So, it does appear that the telepathy is a known thing. I wouldn’t be surprised if Smith Industries’ museum about the Lunarians explain their telepathic capabilities.
The move has been suddenly moved up a week, probably due to Tracy’s interview that’s about to commence. Archival should have known that the honeymoon excuse wouldn’t last all that long.
Lots of windows and they must be well covered on the inside to keep fat old mister sun out.
Vera’s asking the obvious. Of course she’s tried all that !! Where they are looks a far way from where ever the door is that Tracy will be standing at when a most cordial Mr. Archival receives his undesired company.
Unless Tracy sees the ring and recognizes it or perhaps some personal belonging of one of the captives, he will leave a frustrated man. If “Archie” puts out a pastry spread and some liquid refreshment; that will nicely draw Sam’s attention.
Nothing like staying a step or three ahead of Jonny law. By the time you get your court order we’ll be gone.
Not sure I understand, “Archival told me the move was next week. I wonder what changed his mind.” If Archival said it yesterday then he could still be planning the move. If he said it a week ago, which is when we read it, it would make sense. But we all know strip/Tracy time has no similarity to our time. Did creators do a mind flip and we’re into the time slip?
1-VERA SEMILITUDE: I have an idea! Let’s have these Bekin Van Lines guys put us in a big box and then Stan Lee won’t know what happened to us!
2-HORNY: Or we could just ask them to call the cops because we’re being held against our will. Doing it your way still puts us on the island – if we survive the plane trip in the unpressurized cargo hold – idiot.
3-VERA: Fine. I’ll just stop thinking then.
HORNY: When did you ever start? VERA: WHY I OUGHTA…
DT: How do you suppose this guy became a millionaire, Sam?
SAM: He inherited a billion dollars. GET IT? HE STARTED WITH A BILLION AND TURNED IT…
DT: Yeah, yeah. I got it. Maybe you should stay in the car while I talk to Mr. Lee.
SAM: LEE? Maybe his mom was named Viola and she invented LEE-VI’s! GET…
In the urgent “beat the clock” scenario I mentioned a couple of days ago, it looks like Tracy is about to beat the clock. Unfortunately, I don’t think there was much tension over “will he or won’t he” get there in time. It would have been better as time ticks off if there had been more quick cuts back and forth between Tracy’s investigations and what was happening with Vera and Mysta and the rushed move. Watch movies and see how quick cuts are the method of building tension and adding urgency and pacing to a scene. The quicker the cuts, the faster the pacing. The faster the pacing, the more tension and urgency in the scene.
If Tracy gets there in time, waltzes in, frees Vera and Mysta, and arrests Archival with very little or no effort, it will have been a pretty long buildup of a derivative story for a pretty lame ending. The final story will have been: "After a long appearance tour where Mysta shows her dislike for Vera, Vera and Mysta are kidnapped and held together as prisoners in a villain’s personal zoo. Peanutbutter journeys in from the Defunct Character’s home and tips off Tracy who tracks down where the villain lives. So he goes over and arrests him and frees the captives. —Pretty trite, pretty uneventful, pretty boring in the end.
On the other hand, if somehow Tracy does not discover Mysta and Vera on the property and it is a near miss, if Archival has the chance to move them to an island and if Tracy is forced to travel offshore for a more exotic chase-type adventure (perhaps Diet Smith will reveal that he has kept another working Space Coupe and they fly to the island together) then generous applause for a more ambitious, innovative story than usual.
Although I suppose we assume it is Mysta’s or Vera’s, the word balloon in panel 3 pointing rather indiscriminately at the mansion/museum/prison could just as well belong to one of Brock’s Tin Soldiers or movers. Regardless, the message is clear enough.
As the story is presently developing, how far can or will Tracy (and Sam) go in forcing the issue with Archival? Will they realize the missing cartoonist and Mysta Chimera are being held there against their will? And, even if so, will he be able to do anything about it in time to prevent their removal to the remote private island?
It would seem we are either headed for a rapid conclusion to the kidnapping episode or to several more tense weeks before any rescue can succeed….

Looks like we may be finally getting to the end of this long, drawn out tale of forbidden obsession.
BTW, why does the police car have an Ipad as a side view mirror?

I noticed in panel 2 that Mysta has bags under her eyes. She’s definitely tapped out and may not be getting enough sleep.

Based on what I see in the last panel…Sam and Tracy are not waiting on next week to come to Archival’s estate.
