These mice are cute. I don’t know about real mice, though. I used to have roof rats that were small, as big as mice. They would run across my railing on my deck at night. Mice in a group would not be something I would like. I once opened my front door and a little field mouse was sitting outside on my threshold. I closed the door and when I opened it again, it was gone. Wouldn’t want it to get inside.
I occasionally will find a little field mouse in the house. We’re pretty rural out here. I just set a live trap with a Nature Valley Granola bar because they love those. When the little mousie is trapped, I take it to the nature center about two miles away and let it go. You have to take it more than a mile away or it will find its way back.
At 2:00 a.m. this morning, Marie and I were at the 24-hour Emergency Animal Hospital. Giblet suffered a diabetic attack and was having convulsions on our bed. He is 13 years old. Preliminary information indicates his blood sugar was way off, and it was affecting his whole system. As of this moment, he’s blind and can’t move his back legs. The doctor is treating him but is not sure if any of the damage is permanent. We should know more later today.
I had a mouse in my first apartment, before I got a cat. I managed to catch him (with my HAND, not a trap), but didn’t know what to do with him, because I couldn’t kill him. So I opened the window and tossed him onto the roof of the adjoining building. He looked around, jumped right back across the gap, into my window, and back behind the kitchen sink. So I started leaving him cheese. What else could I do?
I brought a mouse into the house as a kid. The cat follwed me step by step. The mouse squirmed and I dropped it. The cat had it the moment it touched the ground. Done
Okay, so now we know that Natasha and Violet were lab mice. Alice is a free mouse. That leaves Agnes unaccounted for. Is it possible that Agnes has been captured and is in the lab as well? That would explain why Alice is scouting the place!
Not that Alice really needs a reason to be scoping out a place—food could be anywhere!
OT: I believe I’ve turned the corner on my road to recovery. Things that previously left me exhausted now just have me tired. I’m eating full portions with only minimal nausea instead of being on the verge of throwing up with every meal and I no longer need the walker for getting around the house
I am so sorry about Giblet. I hope he recovers. Diabetes seems to be sort of common in cats. I have a diabetic one, too, and we get his blood checked every two weeks. In between he eats only a prescription canned cat food—NO snacks of any kind. So when Giblet gets better, remember that. And I can understand your last statement very well. It’s a constant strain and very tiring. Keep us posted on this site and I’ll say a little prayer for your fur baby.

Just exactly what I’ve got to pack I cannot say
But it’s time to see some more of this old USA
It’s a brand new game, that I want to play

No use in any runnin’, or screamin’ and cryin’

Looking for some freedom
In whatever gowns your wearin’
Yeah, darlins’ gonna break you out now
Take you to the big wide world
Fire all of your pills at once now
Explode into bags of grain

Heavy into stealin’
Racing with the Golden Mouse

Take you to the big wide world
Fire all of your pills at once now
Explode into bags of grain
Like a true Robber Mouse
We were born
Born to be mice
We can thief so much
You’ll never wanna stop
