The Planet Zog has a similar name to the Planet Zok which appeared in another Calvin and Hobbes/Spaceman Spiff Sunday Strip. The Planet Zok was a planet with very low gravity which Spaceman Spiff could bounce around on. Calvin was bouncing up and down on his bed.
IIRC Calvin is perpetually in second grade. He gets first grade math questions and sixth grade history and geography questions. Cartoon world at its finest.
@BE THIS GUY- Yeah and to Susie Gerkins! But of course knowing Calvin, he won’t dare tell his parents that he guessed the right answer being Spaceman Spiff.
That reminds me when a classmate brought a Playboy cover and was reading it in a social history class, got busted. Turned out the rest of the magazine was farming one. Everyone had a good laugh, even the teacher.
There seems to be a lot of readers who think he “guessed” the right answer. He didn’t even GIVE an answer, he was completing the count down to crashing. Lucky yes, guess no.

Spiff saves the day! But is it an Earth day, or a Zog day? And how long is a Zog day?

As the saying goes, “If you put 100 monkeys with typewriters in a room long enough, eventually you’ll get Hamlet .”

Why aren’t the Zogites cheering? That was a great three point landing.

I tried the exact same thing in high school physics class. It did not work out well at all. But then I guessed “nine” and it got better.

I like the comment about high insurance premiums.
I wonder what ET Aliens pay with all those crashes they have on this planet.

That one time with a blind pig actually gets the acorn. It’s a pretty big deal to the pig.

Calvin should be proud of the three-point landing, they really are difficult to achieve.

Spiff got Frapped? Could be worse, could be a double mochafrappacrappacino with two extra shots. Or whatever it’s called at Spendbucks.
