Which is one reason why when I got new pillows a while back, my old ones were placed to the side on my bed. Suddenly Sparky didn’t have to worry about me rolling over on her on those occasions she felt like using the pillow for it’s intended purpose as a cat bed!
We have pillows all over the house for the cats – and dog – to sleep on. They are very popular and they never try to sleep on ours (at least not when we do).
I follow a YouTube channel featuring a guy who runs a resale shop near Chicago. He has a calico cat. Someone sold him some large dolls, and a doll-sized bunk bed. The cat saw that and said, “For me? You should have.” She climbed right in and now it’s “Not For Sale.”
Oh, I might actually need this one printed out – it’s like Camera One has been in my room… Diesel sleeps on his own pillow next to mine. Raven sometimes likes to sleep on my head, especially when it gets colder.
That’s odd. Do most of your cats sleep on pillows? None of my cats ever slept on or near my pillows. Most of them preferred to sleep in the absolute center of the bed, and they always tried to beat me to it. Whenever I won, they went to the foot of the bed and warmed my feet, so a double win for me. Note: I did not always win.
I have one neck roll which I absolutely positively can not use at night as one of my cats, a Persian named Kimber, will usually occupy it and if I get hold of it first, he simply uses either my back or chest/stomach (depending on how I am lying in bed) as a trampoline until he gets his neckroll back, no ifs, ands or buts, its a simple reality. Also interesting that Goldie is keeping the man busy, I always thought Elvis was keen on making sure that he pays enough attention to the Man by running in place on him as part of the “Elvis Morning Routine”.
When I fix my bed in the morning, I just straighten it out, pull up the covers and then put a small blanket over my pillow. That way after I leave the bedroom, one of my cats likes to come in and sleep on the pillow. I know the cat has been on the pillow because the small blanket is all askew. She likes it so I don’t mind.
I have my parent’s bedroom set in one of the rooms upstairs set up as a guest room. It’s only a double bed, but it will do if someone stays over. Loaner Cat found the pillows at the head of the bed and made herself a nest. She NEVER sleeps on pillows. NEVER! I had to wash everything and cover the bed with a king sized sheet so at least if anyone stays, I can whip the sheet off and everything’s clean underneath. Sometimes, I don’t get my cat.
Smudge likes to sleep on Paul’s pillow or on the body pillow. Sometimes, during the night, he slithers over, puts his front legs around my face and tucks his face against mine and purrs and purrs and purrs. It’s both soothing and aggravating.
Akiro has no interest in pillows; he prefurs sleeping in the precise middle of either the soft fuzzy blanket on the bed or one of the very large dog beds. Bella, on the other hand, is quite fond of pillows. When she is allowed on the couch, she loves to rest her head on the firm bolster I use as an arm rest.
My childhood cat, Blackie, slept under pillows. My mother made the bed using that technique popular in the ’50s of folding the pillows in half lengthwise and rolling them up in the bedspread so they looked like a solid bolster roll. Blackie would get under the pillows and leave just one white front foot peeking out so we knew she was in there.
Yep, my cats step on my face several times a night, as they pace around the bed. I’ve gotten to where it barely wakes me up any more. Or sometimes I dream I feel a cat walking around on the bed but then I wake up and there wasn’t really a cat there.
There’s an amazingly huge variety of cat beds out there. It’s much better than the hundreds of toothpaste choices humans have. The cat beds are almost all good.
Belle sleeps curled up by Marie’s head. Holly-Bear sleeps in the same spot by her feet. Hamilton sleeps between or over my legs and Mittens pulls down toilet paper and makes a nest on the bathroom floor. The three bed-cats effectively trap us in bed. That didn’t use to be a problem, however, now that there are frequent nighttime bathroom trips, it upsets the apple cart everytime we have to rise.
My loving late wife and I had many cats through the 35 years we were together, Only one of them ever slept on the pillow “with” me. We had a female Chihuahua however who did. I have mentioned before that all of our cats and dogs really loved the “Cuddle Duds” brand of blankets and we always called the Chihuahua blankets because the Chihuahua’s really loved them. We had them all over the house and all of the animals would steal them from each other. My loving late wife’s 2 Oriental Shorthair cats don’t seem to care about them though at least not yet. They never got a chance to “learn” from all of the other animals.
Lucylu does exactly 4 circles every time before she curls up in my lap. Neither cat likes pillows thankfully. They each have their own bed, well big Gray has 3 that he rotates through.
When Natasha and Ash were still with me, there would be mornings on the weekends that I would wake up with both of them on my wheat husk pillow (not very large), purring up a storm. Sometimes would go to bed like that. Vlad, Sebastian, no. And since my pillow makes noises, Oopie the first time he heard it, he said as he ran away “nope, nope, nope”. But now, after I explained to him that I needed it for my neck, he’ll let me use it close to him. Just have to move it s l o w l y.
I don’t know about everyone else but on the 17th I finally got to donate for Betty White’s 100th. I donated $5 for everyone of my furry babies. ($25 plus extra to offset bank fees). I donated to my local Humane Society where I just got Ruke and some of my other babies have gotten shots before. I was glad a had a little extra this month to be able to donate.
I had two pillows someone gave me that I didn’t need. Nobody takes pillows anymore. A few days ago the amazing local rescue lady took a lot of my old blankets so I offered her the pillows also and she took those. I told her about BCN too! I hope her beautiful rescues say “This cat bed is awesome!”
One of mine curls up on the pillow and my face when it’s breakfast time, i.e., 6:30 a.m. He purrs a lot. Waaay better than when he runs full speed from the living room into the bedroom and onto my stomach in one mighty leap!! That’s him on the left…
Our Lily loves to use a little Ninetails that we have at the end of our couch as a pillow for her head. Earlier we had a Raggedy Ann doll there that she laid her sweet head on.

Your pillow’s mine
Gonna tell you right
Just take your place
By day and night
I’m telling you
On how I feel
So don’t you mind
What I reveal
Come on, come on
Let me lay on it all night
I’m giving you
On count of fourty-three
To show your stuff
Or let it be
I’m telling you
Just to watch your mouth
I shed my game
You cough about
Well they say somewhere there’s a limit
And to me that’s quite not true
But my friend you have seen nothin’
Just wait ’til I get through
‘Cause I’m in bed, in bed come on (Kitty kitty bed)
You know I’m in bed, in bed and you know it (Kitty kitty bed)
