Sounds familiar. My wife recently pointed out that ours hadn’t been flipped the last two months. So we had to flip to the next page, study the photo, them flip to the current page.
May I suggest one of our calendars? You won’t care whether you’re on the current month or not, with a photo of one of our rescue hounds on each page. https://www.coonhoundcompanions.com/
I miss the “girlie” calendars you use to be able to get from automotive part stores. Scantily clad beautiful women on calendars is now considered politically incorrect. Sigh.
I have a collection of steam locomotive calendars, and I re-use the date-appropriate calendar each year. I have not bought a new calendar in quite a while.
Every year I get the 14ers calendar, 12 new pictures of the tallest Colorado mountains. I hang it in the office next to my computer to enjoy first thing each day. And the first of the month is special as a new picture is unveiled. As John Denver sang:
“I guess he’d rather be in Colorado
I guess he’d rather work out where the only thing you earn is what you spend"
we have one on the fridge and one on the wall by the computer. We have many Dr. appointments and such to keep track of and it is easier to just look at the calendar on the wall than have to turn on the phone and look up that calendar. Hummmm, I sure am getting old.
Studio Ghibli wall calendar in my office, others in their various locations. I think we have 4 or 5 of those paper thingies around the house. And the Mrs still uses a Day-Timer® in the Two Page Per Day format. One page for appointments and the other for a project diary for project progress and billable hours. No, she’s not an attorney.
Living in a household where everyone has their own schedule, I still find having a wall calendar is useful as an easy way to track “big event” days for the entire family at a glance. Sharing each member’s complete electronic schedule would be way too cluttered, we just want to share major scheduling impacts with each other.
I have faithfully adhered to scenic calendars for many years. Hanging on the wall or on the side of the fridge. On January 1st I take the old ones down and then I will fill in the new ones with birthdays, anniversaries and such with different colored sharpies. It works well for me!
I get a calendar as a Xmas present from my daughter and her family in SoCal every year, has selected pictures of her family that we can cut out and keep the entire calendar is printed on very heavy paper that makes cutting out and saving pictures very easy. I flatly refuse to ever go on facebook, which I guess means that I am an old f@rt
I make photo calendars for ourselves and for each of the kids. I use ‘Snapfish.’ Gotta admit, making them really kicks my obsessive side into overdrive…but we really enjoy having the pictures each month being of various events in our & the kids’ lives…and the date squares are still large enough to contain all the dr.‘s appointments and revisions/cross-outs. They are more expensive than regular calendars, but they’re well made, of hardy paper-stock, and make great Christmas presents.
My ex (and best friend) sent me a calendar for Christmas. It was from Vermont Life Magazine and absolutely beautiful. Problem….I don’t need the calendar as others have pointed out. I put it on my wall near my desk and can’t really read the date part but can see the pictures.
Maybe someday someone will invent the “New Pictures Monthly” and just add another picture where the calendar use to be.
I just purchased a calendar. They are a lot handier to write notes on than a phone. Also I like to see the entire month. Phones are just too small to read the information. I find that phones are also easier to accidentally delete information. Plus many calendars have pretty pictures.
have a checkbook size calendar in my purse to write down appts when I’m out of if DH calls from somewhere other than home to see if we have anything going on a certain day – when I get home I transfer appts to counter top calendar – saves us making appts or plans at same time and a lot easier to look at every morning when I get up than my phone, which never wants to save what I put in it
And – the insurance company for our reenactment unit still sends those small “stand on your desk” calendars to customers. I get the calendars as I am the contact person for the unit with the insurance company. Husband takes the little calendar for his pocket and tosses the holder stand out. (Though this year he had the idea that I could cover the stand and use it to lean signs against in my teddy bear village.)

Calendars are going the way of cookbooks. We have them on our phones instead of our walls.

I give my paper ones I get in the mail to my brother. I use the one on my computer. It actually nags me to do things and reminds me of appointments.

My wife buys calendars with pouches, so as we get tax-related paperwork, she can file it immediately.

Get one of those 3M Command hooks and hang it wherever you want. Excluding the bedroom, that would just be weird.

There is only one place for “the” calendar, all the rest are leftover gifts trying to find a purpose.

I bought a Breaking Cat News calendar this year, to support the artist. It hangs in the kitchen, to make notes on.
