He was waiting for her to lose something before he said something. She was hoping and waiting for him to do something “stupid” before she told him. He did not disappoint.
[What a great pair – they’re made for each other.]
My problem is that during the time that I wait for the other person to do something dumb so that I can tell them what I did, then I can’t remember what I did.
I never understood why older folks were so adamant to use checks over bank cards (debit or credit). If you lost a debit or credit card, the bank would cancel it, and refund any money spent. A lost check book, had all of your banking information printed on it. Your account could be drained and that was that. Very hard to get that money back. Maybe the rules have changed as that was ten years ago that I worked at a bank.
WAIT!!!!! Are they ACTUALLY going for a walk. . .TOGETHER? Must be doing it so they could confess where there might be witnesses so there couldn’t be a murder, maybe???
Being of an age with Earl and Opal, all I can say is that neither the checkbook nor the car keys are actually “lost”. And I’d give odds that Earl will find the car keys Opal misplaced and Opal will come up the Earl’s missing checkbook. And the booth will rule “No foul on the play.” 8>)
Checkbook? Gads, I don’t think I have used one of those since Clinton’s first term. But then again, I haven’t received a true paycheck since then either, with them depositing electronically.
But funny enough, about 10 years ago I had to have a couple of them for some archaic reason. So when I went to the credit union, they printed eight of them at no cost. I still have six of them.

Of all the things I’ve lost, I miss my mind the most. I don’t remember which comedian said that.

Just proves marriage is a trade-off. One person just blends his/her foibles with another’s. If they get along well over the years, it worked.

Which is worse…lost keys or the checkbook? I guess it depends on the type of car and how much is in the bank.
