When I was in my teens (mid to late 1960’s) I had wavy hair (I still do, except it’s mostly a different color now). I had been told in earlier years that the girls will just love it! Unfortunately, by the time I got to that age, straight hair was popular (on both boys and girls) and I couldn’t comb mine in any “cool looking way” because of the wave; mostly it seemed to be a detriment! So I sympathize with Gunther (to a point!). In my adult years things have been better: lots of “thick wavy hair is always wasted on men” or (especially from the older women) “I wish I had hair like that young man” (but I don’t hear the “young man” part anymore). At least I passed it on to my daughter.
