I like how her memory is in black & white like an old tv show. (That won’t translate to most newspapers though, since most don’t print the dailies in color.)
The one time I was tempted to go skiing was with my Luther League group the weekend before my high school’s production of Fiddler on the Roof (I played the man who bought a horse and was delivered a mule). There’s an old saying in show business with great application to skiing. My sister (one of the other families’ daughters) stayed home, too.

My Dad taught me things that I needed to relearn in my adult life. Riding a bike is one of them.

Wow. He taught her so well that she forgot.

Was it so bad that Marcy decided to repress the memory?

I did not learn how to ski until I was 31. Working midnite shift gave me lots of time during the day to go skiing on very uncrowded slopes

It was while I was learning how to ski that I learned I didn’t want to.

You notice that her dad isn’t dumb enough to put those contraptions on his own feet.
