You know, there is something about the healing factor I feel I should chime in on, in X-Men, it basically made Woverine immortal, but a super healing factor can actually do the opposite as well. Every time a cell divides the telomeres at the ends of the DNA get a little shorter, which is responsible for tissue aging. I guess a decent example is Tsunade from Naruto, who had a “mitotic cellular regeneration jutsu” that would ensure she would never die from injuries in battle, but every time she used it it shortened her life expectancy. Another example is the science fiction show “The Outer Limits,” which featured an episode where some scientists stumbled across a formula that made a monkey basically immortal, no poison, disease, or injury could harm it, and they THOUGHT they had a super power serum that the villain of the episode (who had a genetic disease) used it on himself, but then they saw the monkey in its cage close to death and they found out that the formula was only forcing the body’s cells to speed up their replication to heal any injury or sickness faster, but at the expense of overall lifespan. The villain of the episode ended up lying on a hospital bed looking like a 90 year old man, once his cells used up all their regenerative potential all they could do was gradually break down from his genetic disease.

The downside is he’ll need constant boosters. By the time he’s 18 he’ll look like a pin cushion and probably be picked up as a suspected ‘junkie’.
