well, time to charge the phone and post “I was going to post a video of my cat playing with yarn — who wouldn’t — but my phone’s battery died” on Facebook
It never fails. Whenever I see one of my kitties in a particularly cute pose my phone is in the other room. By the time I come back with it she has shifted positions.
I had a cat named White Socks who would sometimes pee in the toilet. I wanted to get a picture of it. I finally got a picture, but it didn’t turn out very well. I was hoping to get a better picture the next time he used the toilet. But after that day that I took the picture, I never saw him use the toilet again.
Happens to me every time. My cat knows when I want pics of her. She actually posed for the one in my avatar. But if I want one of her doing something like Muffin is doing in last panel, she’ll stop as soon as my phone is up to take a pic.
Quite honestly, you can stop sending them to me. No, really. I mean it. I really don’t care about the cute, adorable, or hilarious things that your dog, cat, kids, spouse, group of intoxicated friends, bridesmaids, groomsmen, or neighbors did, or something you just randomly saw and videoed. I know that makes me a curmudgeon, but I’m good with that. (/s)
I know it’s just a comic, but I feel the need to let people know that you shouldn’t allow your cat to play with yarn or string. One of our kids left some yarn scraps out after crocheting and one of our cats slurped up a 6-8” piece of yarn without us knowing. After several days of vomiting, not eating, not using the bathroom, a vet trip with X-rays, bloodwork, fluids, parting with $365, and keeping a sharp eye on the litter box while consoling one child who thought her best friend was going to die, we actually had a lucky and happy ending. (Not to mention a deep clean of said crocheting child’s room!)
I travel with two cameras, a camera phone and an iPod Touch with a camera. It may sound silly, but the last time I traveled without them, I encountered black helicopters surrounding an alien spaceship, a rain of frogs, and yellow sky phenomena. If you’re prepared for that stuff, you’ll have a nice uneventful trip. :)

If Facebook sucks that much battery juice, then maybe the app is spying on her.

Opal should remember this for next time. Maybe she can fool Muffin into doing something cute if Muffin thinks the battery is dead again.

Sort of like the cartoon where the guy finds a singing frog but it only sings for him!

One of the immutable laws of nature is that kids and animals cease doing cute and funny things the second you point a camera at them!
