A drum beat may be part of a musical composition, but is it music? I think of it as percussion.

It could be worse. It could be disco.

It’s a catchy tune, but can you dance to it?

This tends to recall Ben Hur. I had a minor desire to be the big guy with the drum. Also History of the World…

Of course, this again raises the question: what do these guys do?

But is it a beat that they can dance to?

I remember training as a recruit for a state agency. A recruit asked permission to do some jump rope training as extra on the side. Sgt said said good idea. At 9pm when class ended he announced that a recruit wanted extra training. Everyone to the gym…2 and a half hours later we were released for bed….wake up was 5am with morning PT. We reminded him to not make stupid requests like that again.

Well, it’s got a good beat, anyway.
