Thanks for this one. I have always considered Neil Diamond the best singer/songwriter of all time. I will never forget the time I was at a concert and he had me get up to sing with him! Yeah! No lie! He got to the part of his concert when he sings Sweet Caroline and he paused and then said, “C’mon, you know the words to this song. Stand up and sing along!”. So I, and 10,000 other fans got up and sang with Neil Diamond!
Many of my “sophisticated” classic rock fan friends poo-poo Neil Diamond, for reasons that are obscure to me. In my view, “Stones”, “Sweet Caroline” and “Tap Root Manuscript” will be in any complete classic rock album collection. (I’m sure others should be there, too.) And to me one of the most POWERFUL live concert albums is “Hot August Night” capped with the encore medley of Soolaiman/Brother Love’s Traveling Salvation Show!

This must be aboard the Orville, they have a fondness for anachronistic karaoke.

It seems amazing that a song like that, released 53 years ago, could have become such a Baseball Icon…
