Certainly can’t draw meaningful conclusions

I love how you turn around the realities and let a “bad art” look like realism in your comic universe, like in our universe a cartoon cat is considered “bad art” as it lacks realism and looks like a cartoon. I wonder how much of a glimpse into your own life and your critics judgement that is?

Her drawing looks better than their actual cat.

Janis would probably feel better about her talent if she used it in a more meaningful way. She could volunteer at the Red Cross where she could draw blood.

Lovely dwg of Ludi. Too heavily posterised, but that’s easily fixed.

Maybe if they had a dog it would look better.

I wish he would continue the story line, he started when they were young.

A true artist is his own worst critic!

Janis needs confidence!

Sometimes we can’t see the beauty before us, that we create.

This reminds me of my daughter, she draws really good pictures but she thinks that they are all bad. I wonder is a lot of artists think this way. The very few that I have met all are their own harshest critics.

I guess Janis was trying to draw an impressionistic drawing of Ludwig but ended up with a realistic drawing instead. Impressionism is hard to do properly.

I can’t even draw a conclusion, so I gave up on art and understanding long ago

I think he’s saying she has tremendous talent. SHE simply cannot see it in herself.

It’s a common problem among artists that most are their own worst critiques.

Might want a second opinion on that…

I think I am a terrible artist. But maybe my drawings are as good as Janis’s.

So when an artist from our side of the fourth wall draws Luddie he appears cartoony to us. Kinda makes sense to me that when an artist from the other side of the wall draws Luddie he appears photo-realistic to us. Sort of an inverse transmogrification or something. Makes me wonder how things out here would look from in there…

When about age 3, my child wanted me to draw a rabbit. I have zero art skills. I asked her to draw one, and she was already way ahead of my skills! She excelled in art and physics as she got older. That’s an unusual combination.

now that is a good likeness of her cat. nothing wrong with it.

Her cat sketch is sold as an NFT for millions.

My grandson found my old drawing pad. He asked me, “Who drew these? They’re great!”. I remember drawing them and thinking, “I suck!”.

An artist’s biggest critic is always the artist’s interior dialogue.

I thought it was an outstanding drawing

i think it is pretty good.

My appreciation of what she rejects shows I have no taste.

(And I’m not even a cat person although they tolerate me as long as I feed them.)
