Ted uses isometrics, no doubt. For some of us oldsters, getting out of bed or the car is exercise. Now, for those of us who have leg cramps, now, there is real exercise.
I joined the gym last month. Unfortunately, my allergies have gotten so bad (I’m on antibiotic and steroids now) that I can’t go to the gym. And my debit card got hacked and I lost my checkbook.
I hear you loud and clear Uncle Ted. You should write a book on easy living. Young Doctors keep telling us old timers – exercise and physical therapy good for you. I worked back breaking farm life – got degenerative spinal condition (3 surgeries), spinal stenosis, degenerative rheumatoid arthritis and carry over from 20+ years military problems. Walking is dangerous enough for me. So I stick to getting through the days and night without breaking anything. I’ve done my bit of exercise and now it’s rest for the weary. My primary doc says to tell em go to hell-o. He’s 72 and taking it easy also.

I do around 40 crunches a couple times a week. I’m not sure which new medicine is giving me the hiccups but I’m counting them.

Can you do that again uncle Ted ? Somehow, I seemed to have missed it.

Whenever I feel the urge to exercise I lie down until it goes away. (credit Mr. Twain)

I have a set of exercises that I do almost every day plus a mile on my treadmill. Exercise is an important tool for health.

I did three sit-ups here just reading the comic and comments. Ok, lean back in my chair, move forward…, make that 4 sit-ups.

I also make sure I exercise my brain… I’m far more worried about it than my body.

I noticed the little wisp of steam coming from the cup turned into a puff in the last panel. Same thing happened in the 5/27 strip.

I like the relationship that Brutus has with Uncle Ted. It is one of his healthiest!

I get a workout every wash day. I cover the length of the house twice carrying baskets of laundry, with a run up the stairs added in. Whew.

I’ve learned that can be an accomplishment of awe and wonder. A single situp that is. As a kid I was often glad to do anything once.
