I wonder if Lupin can feel the vibrations through the building? I’d love to get his take on this.

Wouldn’t it be great if the gatos would be doing the work?

Cats would have no trouble being on the roof, and perhaps sharpening their claws they could demo the old roof, but… would they actually install the new roof?

Tabitha and Sir Fig are so cool, calm, and collected considering how close they are to the noise.

Of course it would be difficult for the roofers to see the work but if they were gatos they could see in the dark.

Is there anything cats won’t do at 2 a.m.? besides not sleeping, that is?

I want to hear what the ghost cats have to say about it.

Snort. That is absolutely correct, they would. And they’d glare at you harshly like YOU were the problem when you told them to stop.

I feel for all of them, but especially Tabitha and Sir Fig on the top floor.

Thomios: I thought we’d start with the classic, kibble pie and then serve a fish course.

Sue Chef: Fresh and Salty are out on their boat right now, they should be back by tomorrow.

Thomios: Splendid. I’ll decide what recipe to use depending on what fish they catch.

Sue Chef: Trevor-Hotep says his miracle zucchini are producing now. And it’s not even the season.

Thomios: It is truly miraculous. Each vine produces only ten zucchini, but they are delicious. Let’s make a cheese casserole.

Sue Chef: And if the Royal Procurers come through, let’s do a bacon-wrapped ham course.

Thomios: Somehow I think they will, but we’ll never know how they do it. And finally let’s do a Chocolate Everything dessert and end with a honey and cheese plate.

Sue Chef: I’ll go and see if Clio and Thalia are available to make honey.

Well darn, I guess it’s not a piasa or an angry pukwudgie. This of course brought back that old strip. “It’s time for the 2:00 a.m. roofing of the cats! In order to qualify, you must knock over every lamp, at a minimum.”

2am active time for cats… and me too!

Cats would do it in short shifts at irregular intervals with the 2AM shift the only one that’s fixed.

No update from fuzzybritches? Maybe we’ll have to wait till their wrist heals completely.

OT: the cat rescue where I volunteer just got a 10-week old kitten who is white, with piercing blue eyes, and completely deaf. They’ve named him Chris, but he will forever be Lupin to me

They are going to love the hours of “tap tap tap tap tap tap tap tap” that is coming.

I don’t envy those roofers. I took another look at the drawings of the Big Pink House found under the “Our Reporters” tab, and some sections of that roof look really steep, especially the cupula over the 1913 “new addition” where Tillie’s remains were found.

Are the ghost cats gonna you know… defend their territory from the roof fixers?

OT:_ last Saturday evening I fell in the house and broke my right elbow. On Sunday, my friend took me to the emergency room. I had the operation and now I’m enjoying all the pleasures of post-op pain. The doc made a long incision and that stings terribly If I hit it or move a certain way. Also, I’m all the colors of the rainbow and my arm and hand are swollen; I don’t recognize them. I’m bruised from the fall and the surgery. I have to use my left hand to type comments so I’m hitting wrong keys all the time. Also, muscles were involved during the surgery and that’s more pain. I’m lucky I didn’t hit my head. A neighbor has been assisting me with my cats, (feeding and !itter boxes). Problem is she has a job, her own cats to take care of, and she feeds ferals in a neighborhood a few miles away. Therefore, I can’t expect a lot of her attention. I wish I had money to pay her but I live from Social Security to Social Security.So I ask for your prayers and good thoughts for me to get through this during this painful time. Thank you all.(It felt good to write that out. Maybe it will keep me from complaining too much).

Is this the beginning of Iggy’s introduction?? Georgia said at one time that it was going to be subtle and over different arcs.

OT: Stormy Weather

I had a small roofing repair done today. The cats were not happy about the noise but Jack loved watching the guy go up and down the ladder.

OMG this is awesome!

I’m sure this is giving our dear Tillie some serious PTSD :(

The roofers are interrupting prime napping-in-the-sun hours.
