Grill those oysters with a little butter just until they pop open. Use an oven mitt to pick them from the grill, and eat them standing over the other oysters so they know what’s in store for them. It’s best to do this on a beach in Alaska, but satisfying even in Denver Colorado.
Funny…summer began at our house Wednesday morning after school finished Tuesday. One kid caught a cold (tested COVID negative…yay) and stayed in so she could rest up before her class trip to DC which they left for this morning. The other kid was home yesterday due to rain. Spent the day reading and building Lego stuff. Today she took off for the neighbors only to come home an hour later because neighbor wanted to play Roblox (a single player game.) So she turned on the tv and folded laundry with me. Next week the city pool opens and I don’t expect they will be home on sunny days the rest of summer. There are bikes to ride, playgrounds to explore, creeks to wade in, library programs, the ice cream stand…My kids only watch TV when the weather is crummy or there are chores to do.
