Suzie’s colostomy was worse than they expected and she had an allergic reaction to the anesthesia. But they also said that they should be able to reverse it at some point. She’ll be in the hospital for a couple of weeks and then at least 6-12weeks recovery time, probably more. She sounds like she’s in a lot of pain, exhausted and depressed right now. She and her daughter were going on a cruise to Ireland next weekend. Since that’s obviously not going to happen her daughter is talking about going to be with her in Ithaca. Unfortunately they can somtimes be like oil and water. Please keep the prayers and good thoughts coming. Thank you dear Orb!
For those who may have missed it, late yesterday, Georgia posted that Tommy had unexpectedly joined Lupin at the Rainbow Bridge . More information was on Admiral Thomas Whiskerstaches FB and IG.
In case you missed it, please see Georgia’s comment from yesterday afternoon. Our dear real-life Tommy Whiskerstache has unexpectedly passed away at the age of 16. Tommy’s Woman also has posted on Instagram and FB.
On the happier side of cat news, we had a stray show up at our porch about a month ago, super friendly and handsome. We couldn’t do five cats in our small house so he is now in our local no kill shelter, neutered, vaxed and chipped. We sponsored him so he is no charge to whoever adopts him.
And on another note, Carmela is now retired along with me! Over 40 years with same company. I’m not one to travel but she is. For now, however, is some house renovation.
Most nights I wake up between 3 & 4am & scroll thru the ‘Gram for an hour or so until I get sleepy again. Literally the first thing I saw this time was Georgia’s post about Tommy’s sudden passing OTRB:

Burt-Ra: Thank you, Your Majesty. This is indeed a great honor. And I’d like to congratulate my opponent, the incomparable Puckmosis!
Puckmosis: Thank you, Burt. Now I think we should all give a shout out to the one without whom this tournament would not be possible. I of course mean Thomios!
All: Hail to Thomios! We all love you!
Yes, we all do. We’ll all miss you, Tommy. But glad you’ll still be with us in the cartoons.
The experience of dealing with a colostomy is bad enough. Bad anesthesia is the bitter icing on a bad cake. Based on what you said, your sister is facing a difficult time. She might be entirely dismissive of your niece’s feelings and uncaringly cause more angst between them. You should have a backup plan in place for her care asap. I do speak from experience. I got reconnected, thank God, but that was the worst 6 months of my life. I’m sure RS can speak to this too. I’m starting prayers for you and your sister and niece now.
So the whole point of not healing Lupin earlier was to get in a line from a Billy Joel anthem-of-a-generation? I guess it’s good Lupin is also fireball-proof.
“Players” should be aware that this style of vacuum cleaner is basically a big bag full of lint – one of the more combustible substances known to mankind. Careful with those fireballs.

In fantasy, a fireball would not hurt a fire-breathing dragon. They have essentially asbestos scales.

Flashy costumes, intense play, plot unfolds, save the day
Four brave cats, 2 smol mice, play away, roll the dice
Danger, cursed crinkle balls and one vacuum to clean the halls
Tarot’s tower, dust bites, ev’ry room has new frights
Time has passed, unlucky rolls, disaster may be coming fast
But Elvis flames, Lupin’s healed, Pucky hangs on to his shield
Fluffernutter, so big and scary, slowly melts like butter
Pucky almost sucked away, what else do we have to say?
They did start a fire
With a fireball burning, stopped the vacuum’s churning
They did start a fire
Yes, they did light it, and we’re all excited

Billy Joel: We Didn’t Start the Fire
Humans leaving out the dice
Gaming with the Robber Mice
Purple wizards cast their spells
Gather snacks and all is well
Crinkle balls and crazy rogues
Dragon vacs are all in vogue
Bards singing magic songs
Whatever could go wrong?
…….
We didn’t start the fire
Cast a magic spell
You mean all’s not well?
We didn’t start the fire
It was all the vac’s fault
Tho the danger was so fraught!
…….
Clerics healing, show toe beans
A new vacuum sweeping clean
Humans wake up, what a scene!
Was it all only a dream?
Wonder where the food all went
Cats asleep all innocent!
Living room was there a war?
I can’t take it anymore!
…….
We didn’t start the fire
Cast a magic spell
You mean all’s not well?
We didn’t start the fire
But when we see the dice
We will play with the Robber Mice!

… To my surprise, one hundred stories high
People getting loose y’all, getting down on the roof
Folks are screaming, out of control
It was so entertaining when the boogie started to explode
I heard somebody say … disco inferno
(Burn baby burn) burn that mother down
(Burn baby burn) disco inferno
(Burn baby burn) burn that mother down
… Satisfaction came in a chain reaction
(Burnin’)
I couldn’t get enough, so I had to self-destruct
The heat was on, rising to the top
Everybody going strong, and that is when my spark got hot
I heard somebody say… disco inferno
(Burn baby burn) burn that mother down y’all
(Burn baby burn) disco inferno
(Burn baby burn) burn that mother down
… Up above my head
I hear music in the air
That makes me know
There’s a party somewhere
