While some lament their spilled Softee™ (a line ripe for “another take”) I do like that we and especially newer readers, get a deeper look into the Moon people and especially this underground hideout they have nicely homed.
Actor Warren Beatty should definitely do more with the Dick Tracy character. Having top notch comic book writers who put out new material would be very healthy for Dick Tracy, both artistically and commercially. Beatty l think has not done right by the Dick Tracy strip. The possibilities of Gould’s great creation are literally endless.
So apparently moonies have their own currency, electricity, technology, manufacturing, gasoline (or some other source to make their moon buggies run) and now their own stores for clothing? Wow, amazing…..you couldn’t possibly stretch your suspension of disbelief any further unless it was attached to that medieval rack
I have to strongly disagree with Lt. Reimer (“Crimestopper’s Textbook”). Imagine a situation in which a criminal invades a home, intending to kill, rob, or otherwise harm a resident. Does the good lieutenant actually think the criminal will allow the resident to call time out and then stand idly by while the resident unlocks the safe, takes out the gun, disables the trigger lock, goes to another storage facility, unlocks that, takes out the ammunition, and loads the gun?
1-HONEYMOONS: Why does Ma have water squirting out of her hand?
DT: Huh? I thought that was how you Moon people pee? So you’re saying it’s not?
2-…Ummm. So it comes from down there – where I’m pointing? HONEY: Yes, silly.
3-DT: WHEW! THAT’S A RELIEF! Now I won’t worry about shaking hands with a Moonie!
4-HONEY: Hey! Look at all the Moon Money at the bottom of the fountain! Wait a second…
5-…Why are your pants wet up to the knee? You’ve been snatching Moon Money out of the fountain! Why Pop-Pop? Why?
DT: Uhhh, no I wasn’t. I was…a…hugging the statue. I miss your Mom so much.
HONEY: So why is one sleeve wet up to the elbow? DT: Uh…that arm sweats a lot? What’s with the 3rd Degree all of a sudden??? Come on. I’ll buy ya a Fish-Sicle.
HONEY: With what? DT: Shaddap! Ya want one or not??? HONEY: Sure.
Liska seems very generous, taking both Honeymoon and Mysta Chimera shopping for moon-duds. Honeymoon looks okay; I wonder what Mysta will look like in her new outfit?
Can Honeymoon’s wish for Dad to see the Fountain of Mysta imply that Junior might eventually appear in this arc?

In Paris there’s a statue of courageous Joan of Arc
Principles and character assured she left her mark.
Celebrated. Venerated. Consumed by cruel flame
Respected and beloved, enduring is her fame.
Look to see Calliope, the wise assertive muse
Eloquence and poetry were hers to craft and fuse.
In Antarctica there is a beach gifted with her name
A place for thoughtful solitude. Meditative aim.
Look to see standing bold and free a statue of the one
Beloved by Lunarians, too soon her day was done.
Left behind a daughter who does echo mother’s ways
Spirited and of good heart. Both worthy of great praise.

Hmm. I was anticipating some action about of this whole “let me show you the fountain” thing. Not to be.

Good morning™, everybody!
Somebody was saying that Honeymoon should go shopping and now she has!
Are the arms moving on the statue? No, I don’t think so. It’s just the different angles. It’s nice to have a variety of points of view, I think.

it would have done Junior good to see the tribute to Mysta… I’m sure he would be moved by it…

Sigh, what a wasted Sunday. As bad as a dropped Mr. Softee!

Hey Kenny G., NOW I’ll point out the statue’s difference in Mysta’s hair.

I really like the second to last panel. Ethereal and a little ghostly. Very nice.

Despite the lack of action today, I give it top marks for sentimentality. And the art is absolutely wonderful.

Own a firearm? Nothing doing, unless it’s a harmless water pistol.

The only firearm my family owned was an air gun used to scare off stray dogs.

I agree Junior should see it, but Sparkle might not be too thrilled.

Beautiful last panel. Dick Tracy’s face in the shadow explain so well his sadness.

When Marina was flirting with Tracy, I jokingly commented, “When in Rome…”
Now Honeymoon gives him the same advice.
