“And I have further data! If you’re on the earth it appears the sun rises from the east!”

Perhaps Brewster is not the only one having problems seeing the obvious.

I’d say the robot failed the Brewster test. Thought it was talking to a functioning intellect.

I wonder if the Turing test could be slightly modified for Senators and Congresspeople.

It would be designed to demonstrate to a normal person (IQ = 100 baseline, and not deranged which admittedly is getting harder to find) that the Senator/Congressperson is in fact not a robot controlled by lobbyists, displays free will and is prepared to act according to the oath of office rather than in their own (or their partys own) self-interest.

If he wasn’t we wouldn’t have such a funny cartoon.

That robot may be related to Elon Musk’s son X Æ A-12.

Creating a Turing machine is not hard. We had to do that in CS class. Except for the infinite tape, that is.

The robots behind today’s voice menus already assume they are smarter than you. I know there are people that call up and ask questions as a hobby (???) but I’m not one of them. If it was in the FAQs online, I would not be calling.

Auto makers have been building Touring machines for a century.

An ANDROID could potentially fool people with good enough facial movement technologies, but a bucket head robot could not deceive a normal human.

Normally, I’d say a name like “X-14-A” should be a clue, but that was before Elon Musk became a dad.

Called it. // BTW, for those other than JudyAz, a “Turing machine” is not a machine that can pass the Turing Test, it is a simple computing device (generally only created as a thought experiment) that illustrates the universality of coding within the limits of computability.

// Almost sounds like I know what I’m talking about, eh? Oh well, it was off the top of my head and it’s been awhile and I’m getting oldish.
