My son, a high school teacher, tried to recruit me because they are so short of teachers. I live an hour-and-a-half away and haven’t taught in 30 years.

Who would want to teach in the woke world schools created by the Liberals? My HS Yearbook has a picture of a teacher with his vaunted paddle. NOBODY messed around in Mr Mihalik’s class. And we paid attention in class, too. Boy, try that today and you’ll get sued. Screw that.

The teacher shortage is due to children not being taught basic decency, respect, and kindness from narcissistic parents who are too busy on their phones trying to be validated by every post they make on social media to parent and teach their children. This has nothing to do with guns or any political party. Teachers cannot deal with the children nor their parents anymore so they leave. It’s very sad.

Nah, nothing can be done about a teacher shortage. Republicans HATE the idea of an educated population.

Maybe restrict what they can teach, so no one is made uncomfortable, and hire some unqualified people to replace them.

I’m a teacher, and safety really is a huge part of that. And don’t tell me that schools need armed security or guns locked on campus, because if that happens in my district, I’ll feel less safe and I’ll quit. Requiring students to use see-through backpacks seems stupid to me as well.

But this problem goes beyond that. We don’t get paid enough for what we do, even when we work extra hours or spend out-of-pocket money for our supplies. Teachers, who actually do the work and interact with our youth, make so little compared to the fat cats at the top who make the big bucks in education yet they don’t do the work we do. It is a ridiculous hierarchy.

And by the way, I noticed I’m the only one who wrote a comment who mentioned is a teacher and who didn’t go into politics. The majority of the other comments only focused on blaming one political party or the other. THAT’S what the other problem is! Not addressing the actual issue and making it about a fight between polical groups.
