In Panels 2 and 3, the sheets thought they had the upper paw. Puck on the counter-attack!

OT. The OED has not yet accepted “hork” as a legitimate spelling. Still insists on “hawk”.

However, Stuart McBride* uses a dialect word “howch”. Pronounce the ch as in “loch”, and it is onomatopoeic. I’m happy to use that in the future, and recommend it to all.

(I also recommend McBride. Good writer, though his descriptions of Aberdeen weather make him the enemy fo the Scottish Tourist Board.)

Look some days I have a novels worth of commentary.. and somedays I just delight in seeing pucky try to eat a sheet while his people, as usual, don’t seem to get WHY he’s doing that. IN this case less understandable since he swats at leaves every year. I’m also directing this only at The Man And Woman. The Real Life Dunns likely simply didn’t think of this when they bought some cool sheets and got annoyed/laughed a LOT at Puck’s antics, and thus we got a week a strips out of it. Possibly more as this dosen’t seem remotely settled yet. We’ll see tommorow.

This is hilarious! It reminds me of Bagheera attacking things that moved under the covers, usually feet.

OT, finally a diagnosis

Pucky is a fierce guardian buddy!

This is like one of those 1970s epic disaster films where only one lone cat understands the risk and danger. The clueless People around him dismiss his efforts to warn them of the impending doom but it won’t be until the leaves turn on everyone that they will know what Pucky was trying to save them from.

He did leave the sheets alone… for five-point-seven seconds. It’s not his fault a specific span of time wasn’t indicated!

I love panel 2. Puck really really really wants to be a good boy. But those leaves!

My very favorite term for the falling leaves comes from the Canadian cartoon series “Little Bear” In one scene where the little bears are playing in the falling leaves, the little girl bear sings “It’s Leafing, it’s leafing!”

Today’s strip is so very pretty. The colors and white space and Puck. I can’t get over how pretty it is! (I keep going “wow! that is so cool looking!”).
