Goldie knows all those kitten tricks…..I bet Trevor is a softy though.

Not TWO seconds ago I was just saying how I hoped these two would interact more and I finally have it and it’s beautiful. Goldie has now also adopted Bea, as does anyone whose around her more than three seconds. I also get the feeling this was based on Goldie and either Iggy or Ora Zella. Just a hunch.

Goldie is a “no nonsense” type. And she make sense right now, it’s bedtime folks, why are you still up? I know it’s probably a matter of where you all are right now. I’m CDT (12:42 a.m.). Time for bed. Yawn…

My sweet Milo (of blessed memory) welcomed and raised three kittens in turn with such care and patience, but I loved it when he would finally put his paw down on their head as if to say, “That’s enough, little one.”♥

When Fafnir, my avatar,was a tiny kitten she was mothered by Ossip, a massive grey and white longhaired cat. When he wanted to settle her down he just grabbed her and stuck her under his white neck ruff and held her there with a paw.

I’M in PDT so it’s 1:53AM. Way past my bedtime.

At 18 years old now, I’m afraid Loaner Cat would rather show her A$$ of Pass as she leaves the room than her Paw of Nope. Her patience isn’t what it used to be or we’d have a kitten in our midst.

I just realized, Beatrix now has three dads and a mom! Plus aunts and uncles and a cool grandma! And her dog brother! One big happy family. :D

I have fostered a few mom cats with kittens. Mom cat would intentionally use her tail to play with the kittens, similar to us playing with a cat using a wand-type toy. This always made me smile.

That’s at least 7 Beatrix bounces in panel one.

I see Goldie has limits to her patience.

I’m in Kaylin’s time zone (Central US – Chicago/Houston) and usually read the strip itself right after midnight and bedtime. Then I come by later in the day for comments.

You need your sleep if you’re going to go nuts at 3AM.

I finished Giblet & Belle The Case of the One Still Too Many last night. I recommend it to everyone. It really drew me into the story and it was hard to put down. I was happy to get Joel Grey’s back story, one of the things I wanted after reading the last book, including how he got from West Virginia to Connecticut. After reading the last book I posted that I wanted to find out more about Joel’s background and Robert posted I was in luck because that was going to be covered in the next book. After reading this book I hope he explores more the fact that the girl people-kitten can understand the cats, and assume the sneak peak is going to be part of the next book I might get that wish too.

Everybody needs a “love and hugs” parent and a “because I said so” parent. Luckily Beatrix has both, plus a “let’s explore new things and eat them” parent and one who just does weird stuff. truly a fortunate kitten!

Goldie thought Beatrix was cute for about three seconds.

I have seen my queens do exactly that move on their kittens. It always amazed me that obedience was instantaneous and remained so even when Mama left to go chase down additional kittens. I’ve seen Daddy do it too.

I suspect this interaction was had more than once RL with Goldie and her two new little siblings.

Just LOVE the Kitten Flattening Paw and the inevitable kitten reaction of “Well, okay, I’ll do what you want, but it’s not because I’m currently pinned under your foot. I was gonna do it ANYWAY.”

Oh my, I’m glad Elvis-dad wasn’t around to see this.

It’s getting colder up here. And darkness falls earlier. The clowder sleeps all day. And commences Zoomies at O’Dark 30 and lasts for half the night. Ever had an 18 pound Norwegian Forest Cat run across your stomach at 2:34 AM like she did today? OOF!!!

And don’t get me started on the Meezers. Clompity, clompity, clomp. (How can such creature that are so light on their toes feel like they are wearing those big old clodhoppers?). They are worse because when you ask them, “What are you doing at this hour?” they will then stop to tell you. One more night of this and they are all going out to the barn. I don’t care how cold it is, they have fur coats.

Aww, she’s so little <3 I found a picture the other day of an itty bitty kitten so “smol” it was sitting on a charger block plugged into a socket.

Bea is every kitten ever held down by the Paw of Doom. “Wheee! Are we still having fun?” And just like that, little kitten girl will be out like a light. Night-night, baby girl.

Good luck with that. Young kittens tend to go-go-go until they fall asleep wherever they are. However, if an older cat can get a “control hold” on the kitten, it can often be groomed to sleep.
