yay.. and it is fascinating this year because the vine on my fence is full fall red but the rest of my plants are still summer green and thriving.

I think Earl’s doing it right. He brought a cooler. Have enough from the cooler and he won’t worry about what Edna has to say

Did she catch a red one on her tongue?

For many years, pro-football commentators referred to the part of the field within the opponent’s 20-yard line as the “red zone”. The previous offensive coordinator of the Packers started calling in the “gold zone”. Now the fans have chosen up exactly the 2 sides depicted above.

Either that, or these are schizophrenic Minnesota Gopher fans.

I’m with Mr. Red… as far as favorites go.

I don’t get the fall color appeal. I like vibrant green leaves. The fall ones just look like leaf corpses to me.

Red is fine as long as the leaves weren’t already red before autumn.

Now is the Autumn of their leaf dissent.

It gets pretty golden around here in Autumn, but we’ll have to wait to nest season – it’s Spring here in the Land of Oz. An awful lot of flowers (Clivia around our place) and green.

I like the multitude of colours in autumn – at least before they all turn in to shades of brown and grey.

One can take or leaf this one.

Ah, yes. The arena, where emotional preferences can be vented so as not to escalate into politics. It used to work, but not so much anymore. Now they’re both businesses competing for money.

Face paint. Show your commitment. I’m assuming the beverage in the Thermos is spiked.

Looks like Edna has an early lead.

People who are afraid of the outdoors have no real connection to trees while green, scramble to see dying leaves…only because they are not green. Cityiots.

In the end they’ll all be brown and in the compost pipe. Um, the leaves that is… well, maybe the people too.

Here in northernmost Maine, colors are already changing. Potato harvest is in full swing and it’s a bright and sunny day today. Life is good!

We have lots of brown: pine needles, pine cones, oak leaves, acorns, squirrels…

It’s all Brown in the end.

I like the color “Raked, Bagged, and Recycled”.

The huge oak leaves come down last, and fill up the gutters.

I’m just glad I can finally turn off my air conditioner and not have to turn it on again until May of next year.

Autumn !

Lets hope they didn’t drive 500 miles to look at the leaves.

Red ivy, it means the Cubs made the post season. Rarely!

In a pine forest it is always green unless it is drought then it is a dark red.

Aspens turn gold before they fall. Pine trees don’t change much at all…

Another great joy of Autumn is watching Stella plow into a huge pile of leaves.

Putin’s favorite colors are red and crimson

If you love red, as I do, wait for Christmas and the poinsettias.

The prettiest leaves are the gold ones with lots of orange spots and green threads that haven’t turned yet.

It all depends on when and how quickly the temperature drops at the end of the season; the leaves are the same beforehand. There’s a parable about people and their politics in there somewhere.

So far, it’s green with gold highlights here in the New England valleys—more color sooner in higher elevations.
