They sure don’t want to go back, and I don’t blame them. While I’m sure the Quinn Animal Shelter is the best of the best, it’s still not as good as having a real home.
I’ve been wondering what could be so bad for them at the shelter. Tommy’s mom is very nice and caring. I wonder if someone wanted to adopt just one and separate them? Have any of The People said anything about adopting them -yet – at the BPH? Waiting for the rest of the story……
Everyone seems to be assuming that Iggy is the cat that needs the medication. All we’ve heard is that, “one of the young cats,” needs meds (today’s strip), and that, “one recently had an operation and need their antibiotics.” (October 6). Ora Zella is probably big enough and old enough (her claim of already being fully grown notwithstanding) to have been recently spayed in the shelter, or she could have some other condition. Maybe she needs the antibiotics and Iggy’s eye was removed long ago.
Mind you, they both look like they could use some gabapentin or at least some Feliway sprayed in the house. Of course, you don’t necessarily want to medicate every instance of anxiety (that goes for people, too), but Ora Zella looks like she’s liable to hurt herself soon. (Not that Baba would let that happen.)
So Iggy is something more like a co-conspirator rather than an unwilling participant, interesting. This does make me wonder who the pills are for since neither of them seem eager to receive medicine. Baba Mouse has certainly earned her rest, but perhaps it’s time for her to return to the fray.
Some cats don’t want to be housecats. We tried with a stray that hung around but he did not understand what a litterbox was for. Very messy trial. Sadly we had to let him be outdoors. We still feed him and treat him well, just can’t let him in. We feed many strays in our neighborhood.
Ah the trials of youth. With age they will come to realize that a warm cozy home, with loving humans, plenty of food and a clean litter box makes for a great place to live.
The Quinn shelter is probably a really nice shelter, but it isn’t a home.
The people are buying the Old Pink House? Just open up the purple rooms and foster some of the overflow cats. The children would have more playmates, and the BCN team would have more stories to report.
The other day we were discussing the purple room in the Big Pink House. I am now the very confused owner of a lavender iPhone. The guy at the Spectrum store thought he was being helpful and showing me how to use it, but he swiped and tapped through the screens so fast I have no idea how to do anything on the phone. I wish Burt was available. I’m sure he could help me figure it out in no time. (Did I manage to kinda sorta keep it on topic?)

An Animal Shelter can be completely humane, but they’re still in cages and getting little attention except for medical attention.

At least that got them talking to Puck. Maybe he can tell them about his experience at the shelter and reassure them that they will be safer there.
