The USA finds itself in a classic double-bind: If the extreme right takes over Congress, then we can look forward to some horrible times. If the extreme right doesn’t assume majorities, then we can look forward to violence by the disciples of the extreme right.
Low-hanging fruit, and not really true. People don’t vote for many reasons. Some (though likely not this guy) live in places where polling places have been moved or removed to disenfranchise them. And some realize that voting will never bring about needed fundamental change and so feel no motivation to do it. (I think voting is useless, but I still do it as a low-effort attempt at harm mitigation.)
Mail in is really a great option. Seeing the ballot with plenty of time to research exactly what they are proposing is going to produce more intelligent voting. Voting early enough to avoid lines is going to produce more voters. Pretty much any other option is better than standing in line on election day.
I haven’t lived in the U.S. for over 10 years but I still vote an absentee ballot in every election – no easy feat since I’m registered to vote in Florida! I urge every single one of you – no matter what your political persuasion – to vote.
The future of democracy was never so imperiled. This is particularly true in states like Florida. Vote while you still have a chance!
All areas of the US need a vote-by-mail approach… along with mandatory participation as an “entry fee” to citizenship and civil (no pun intended) participation… such as the ability obtain a driver’s license or ID, receive benefits and services, etc.
Of course, a vote-by-mail option would remove the long-favored Republican roadblocks to voting… long waiting lines in the heat or cold, reductions in locally available polling places, intimidation and/or threats of violence by armed GOP vigilantes, and on and on.
Besides — say critics and those opposed to the convenience of voting by mail — there’s always absentee ballots… and their own sets of obstacles courses to navigate in order to obtain such a ballot.
It is helpful to recognize there are only two forms of true power in any democratic nation — organized money or organized voters — and then decide which camp you wish to support by your own actions… or inactions.

Yeah, pretty much. Good luck with fascism, ‘merica. Hopefully other countries will welcome the US refugees who will definitely be targeted for “reeducation”, notably PoCs, LGBTQ+ folks, women, anyone who doesn’t follow christianity, and non-republican/ conservative/ libertarian whites.
Free and fair elections in the USA? When was that? 1980? For the past two decades (at least) elections haven’t occurred anymore in the USA. With campaigns that cost millions of dollars and do nothing else but slander the opposite party with utter lies, campaigns that are designed to scare, disinform and deceive voters… combined with jerrymandering (sp?), deliberate obstruction of voters/ voter suppression…. I honestly can’t call that “free and fair elections”.

I voted yesterday early. Took about 10 minutes. No armed guards, no self appointed poll watchers, all electronic.

On future-guy’s shirt, is that a breast pocket with a couple of pens, or a bar-code logo to ID him as a citizen-bot?

Democracy dies on the price of gasoline. How sad.

Leaving out one important part, don’t just vote, vote against the fascists.
Too many still vote for them.
