Oh drat, I can’t remember what musical that is. I can hear the melody, but I can’t place the show title. Augh! This is going to bug me now. Can one of our more musically-literate Orbsters help?
Please let her do this for a few strips Georgia. ALso fitting both in tone, and in almost being christmas.
As a side note it’s GOOOOOD to be back. And just in time for our dynamic duo to explore the apartment. Presumibly like with Goldie (and as I THINK happened with both Iggy and Goldie in real life), the adoption will go through around christmas. It’s just less of a hassle this time as the Man dosen’t need a special exemption now their going to co-own the place.
Ora reminds me of my tiny tortie, Peekaboo. When I first brought her home, she would take a few steps, stop for a look, and make her “Peekaboo noise”, an inquisitive little cross between a purr and a mew. I’m sure it translated to “What’s this? And this? And this?”
Meimei was a “what’s this, what’s that” kitten too, especially since she’d spent her entire first two months outdoors behind a gas station and now she was in an apartment with all the food and snuggles she wanted and a big brother and two loving people to bite. And she put everything in her mouth.
What’s this? It’s back! GoComics, is everywhere! What’s this? With comments to declare! What’s this, I say! Thought Doom was here to stay! What’s this? What’s this? What’s this?!
Oh gosh, you folks who haven’t seen Nightmare please do! It’s charming and funny and suitable for children. It’s not a real horror thing! It’s…delightful! Heartily recommended!!
Nightmare Before Christmas is my daughter, Thing 2’s, favorite Christmas movie! I love the reference.

Hi everybody! I’ve missed y’all so much! Happy Wonderful Thanksgiving677777777777777777777777777777777777777777tg` (Bob, my 18 year old Okinawan orange tabby, typed that part when he walked across my keyboard. I guess he says Hi too!
The five stages for Robert when Go Comics was down:
Denial: “Hmm, can’t read Breaking Cat News this morning. I am sure it will be up in a minute…”
Anger: “What do you mean I can see Georgia’s Sunday strip? Who’s responsible for this outrage?” (bangs on the kitchen table so hard he spills his tea and proceeds to throw his buttered crumpet against the wall).
Bargaining: “Oh, Great Cat in the sky. Send me a sign that this is temporary, and I promise to be a better cat dad.”
Depression: “Robin is right; we are all doomed. There’s nothing to live for…Yes, I want a fourth martini. Stop asking silly questions!”
Acceptance: “Go Comics is never coming back…It’s all over…suddenly life means so much more. The loons, do you hear the loons?”
OTAbout a month ago I walked into a pet store to get supplies for Alice Cooper cat and the Princess Rain. I walked in to see an employee in tears, and a volunteer frantically trying to contact a foster. Long story short.. someone had dumped a pregnant calico at the store, and the manager wanted her taken to our humane society (which is high kill). I walked out with her, named her Stevie Nicks, and she now has 3 gorgeous little ones. Though the orb would like to know…
What a wonderful day. Warm(ish), sunny, and BCN is back. Tomorrow is Thanksgiving. Among things I am thankful for is waking up to BCN and your comments each morning. It sets the tone for the day. I have learned so much from each of you about cats. I thought mine were extrodinary – they are, but so nice to know that others have extrodinary cats also.
It is good to be back on GoComics. I used to have an Arcamax account, until something went wrong on that site some years ago. I haven’t bothered signing in since. It’s good that they run BCN, and it’s nice that people can post pictures, but there’s no place like home. The problem must have been a widespread one, the online version of our local paper issued a statement that it’s cartoons puzzles and games pages were unavailable.
Georgia, you know now that someday you will have to release a book in the style of Calvin and Hobbes’s “There’s Treasure Everywhere”, except it must be titled “There’s Cat Hair Everywhere”, and it must show Ora Zella destroying things while Iggy trails worriedly behind.
I’m channeling The Woman from Sunday – after much procrastination (reading Pucky, Prince of Bacon) I’m getting with the pre-feast program. One pecan pie is in the oven now. Pumpkin will be next, because it’s not Thanksgiving without a pumpkin pie on my table.
Hello everyone! So nice to be back here. I was thankful in searching for BCN that I found the Arcamax page. Was nice to see so many of you there. May everyone have a wonderful day today.
I’m so happy to see the gang back!! Have been in withdrawl. Wish GoComics had sent notification that they were back, I’m still not getting daily email of followed comics, only found them back when I was looking for another way to get BCN fix. Love to all.
Happy Fibonacci Day! Celebrate with curled up cats and cinnamon rolls. To those of you who do not celebrate due to differing date conventions: shame! ;-).
Did you notice that the Man has a tissue box cradled in his left arm? Is he ill? Or is he protecting it from the lil’ tortie demon? (Tortemon? Tortie oni = Tortoni?)
And on a side note, Hello all of you, dear fellow commenters! I’ve been hanging out with you for a while now, just silently. So…. Hello!!
It starts with “what’s this” and quickly proceeds to “will it bounce”. A kitten brain is close to the ultimate computer. It makes a working universe out of random incidents in a few months by simply doing every possible thing with its body to the environment around it. Sometimes the environment survives the experience.
The longer this arc goes, the more these two remind me of Pru and Dee. Pru may have been blind, but she bounced from thing to thing all around the house as soon as she came out of the bathroom. You could practically hear her asking this question, too. Like Iggy, Dee was content to follow along and check out whatever she had found.
I swear, that’s Monroe’s mew as well. He asks us what things are all the time. The itty bitty kitty loves to explore. Today he found a stash of ponytail holders and kept playing with them, finally bringing them to Grandpa in triumph.

Traditional: Greensleeves and What Child is This
What is this thing of which I sing
As I run through the house so warily?
Stuff everywhere and a guy in a chair
We run and shed oh, so merrily!
…….
This, this is our new home
We’ll stay here forever, no need to roam!
Haste, haste, must run around
As we greet our new cat friends and humans!
…….
Why need we to do like the Big Bad Wolf,
And huff and puff and knock walls down?
We’ll do like Fluffapurris Rex
And run around the tiny town!
…….
This, this is our new home
We’ll stay here forever, no need to roam!
Haste, haste, must run around
As we greet our new cat friends and humans!
…….
And now we adventure and mischief seek
We will learn from our brave Lupin,
And sometimes we will make Elvis poof!
And we love our own Prince of Bacon!
…….
This, this is our new home
We’ll stay here forever, no need to roam!
Haste, haste, must run around
As we greet our new cat friends and humans!

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
Elvis-Anum: I’ve been looking through the archives. Did you know about this scroll, Bea?
Beatrixia: I’ve heard about it, but only through legends.
Elvis: Maybe Thomios knows something about it.
At the Royal Kitchen
Thomios: Yes, I’ve heard about it. I think Uncle Floof would know more.
Sue Chef: Then you’re in luck. He’s here from Afar with his super spectacular Diem Carp kibble pies.
Floofnet the Joyous: Here are your kibble pies. Thanks to Ora Zedd, Puckmosis, and Iggy Shipwright and Fresh and Salty Water Cats.
Bea: Thank you so much, Uncle Floof. Do you know anything about this scroll?
Floof: Why yes. It’s a legend of the future captured in these stories about our own vizier’s descendant.
Puckmosis: Aw, shucks. I’m so proud of him.
Elvis: Let’s all give a cheer for Pucky, The Prince of Bacon!
All: Hear! Hear!
