I was a little surprised that there are black and white costumes that George Reeves used, but I found a picture of the original and later versions:

Fifty thousand would indeed be an excellent price if the costume were real. Just a cape from the costume sold in 2008 for $32,312. Here is a page from the auction house with interesting details about how they made sure that is was the real thing.
I don’t know what he means by a “custom” animation cel. As opposed to what?
Of course, the most rarest & valuable “entertainment artifact” in Dekko’s collection is an actual Dick Tracy strip from the Mike Curtis era that does not contain a comic book or memorabilia or cos-playing reference. Only a few in existence!
If my TV Guide article reading gleaned me anything it was that both George Reeves and Clayton Moore had their shows shot on color film in anticipation that Dumont would perfect color TV and the shows would remain marketable on the newer system.
I’m alright, its definitely kidney stones, two in fact…one painfully working its way out and the other still in the kidney itself…I’ve been prescribed percocet for the pain, also theres a pulmonary node and a renal cyst that they said weren’t major issues but a doctor can keep track of them for me…apparently people normally develop them over time
The Cleveland Public Library has one of the world’s largest collections of Superman memorabilia; Cleveland, because Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster, the creators of Superman, came from there. The man that donated the collection to the CPL? Why, Mike Curtis, of course. So that last panel is based on some expertise.
I can’t help but believe that a couple of Superman fans were behind certain street names in the East Metro Atlanta area. One is a very short street named “Lois Lane” and it connects directly to the other, “Cleveland Avenue.”
1-DT: What was that joke I just said about you? I want Sam to hear it.
2-ART: You said Mush Mouth there could be the next Michael Buble~DT: Hmmm. That doesn’t sound right. And Sam isn’t laughing. I’m sure it was something hilarious.
ART: AND…
3-…you said you’d give me $50 K for this Superman suit! DT: I DID?!?!
SAM: HAR HAR HAR! BETTER GET TWO, TRACY – THEY’RE SMALL!!!
“DT:* Shut up, Sam. I’ll do the bits around here! I’LL TAKE TWO – THEY’RE SMALL!!! See – it’s all in the delivery.
Lessee. Mumbles is allowed to ramble over to a bin of cels without close supervision. Sam is (ostensibly) looking through another bin-ful (but may be keeping a peripheral glance on Mumbles). Meanwhile, scrawny little helmet-haired Art Dekko tries to con Tracy into buying an obviously fake “George Reeves Superman uniform” (fake if for no other reason because the quoted price is way too low, and Art isn’t offering loss leaders; but also the S-logo looks wrong [okay we know that’s probably due to copyright issues that constrain Shelley; but in Tracyville and the Tracy Universe that excuse doesn’t exist], though it’s hard to be sure from Dekko’s photo album, and a serious buyer would insist on inspecting the actual costume). I don’t think Tracy is buying any of this….

Been awhile since Mike put a Superman TV series reference in.

Is the presence of Dekko, the reason they might call that show a “con”?

is there ANY chance that Art has gone straight and become legitimate in his business dealings or is he back to his shenanigans?…

I don’t understand. Dekko seems like an honest business man. Why the questions?

Don’t buy, Dick. It is a fake. Just look at the logo.

I’m waiting for a furry in a Slylock Fox costume to walk up and reveal why Dekko’s wares are fake.

Maybe they can work out a deal and he can start selling Dick Tracy hats and coats.
Sporteric11 about 2 years ago
That was an obnoxious comment from Dekko to offer Dick an item for only “50 thousand dollars” . Only a crooked cop would waste that much money !!!

If Art knows his stuff is forged (he could be someone else’s stooge) he is either dumber than dirt or insanely arrogant to try to sale Tracy anything.
