    Beloafing is a word that means saying a word just to hear the sound of it. I think that’s what’s going on here.

    I’m nominating “Oowoo”. Easy to pronounce, pleasant and non-threatening. You can easily convince yourself it was your baby’s first word. It can be repeated/stretched out adorably when talking to babies and dogs (“oowoowoowoowoo”).

    Interesting historical note about the word “hello” which most Americans “use” to answer a summons to the telephone.

    Alexander Graham Bell, the inventor of the telephone, wanted people to use the word, “Ahoy”, when answering that summons…
