I’m more surprised on the rare occasions a Republican tells the truth.

Can the voters recall a member of Congress? I know that State elected officials(or is it only the governor?)can be recalled, but can a Senator or Representative be recalled?

In a democracy we don’t always elect the best candidate but we do elect the one we deserve.

He saw that lying worked for Trump and it seemed to be working for Hershel Walker so he thought , why not me too.

In his “apology,” Mr. Santos seemed not so sorry that he lied, nor that his lies were exposed, but genuinely surprised that anybody cared. It would appear, if Mr. Santos is any example, that the end always justifies the means no matter how despicable those means are.

What is the problem here? Santos is a Republican. Republicans get a pass on lying. Trump set that standard.

Santos is using Page 2 of the Trump playbook (Page 1 is “Fake News”). Page 2 is “Two wrongs make a right.” His defense is “Everybody else is doing it.”

I recall that as a child I used the same argument, ’But mommy, everybody else is doing it!" She replied with the inevitable parental logic, “If everybody jumped off a bridge, would you do it too?”

Maybe Santos should jump off a bridge. Nice to see he’s trying to use the same logic as a 6-year-old.

Gosh.. can you imagine the howling had this happened to a democrat. But.. it’s okay if a republican does it.

So no one in the press or either political party did any vetting on this guy? And now the Republican party get another chance to prove that any association they have with ethics or values is purely coincidental.

A typical BIG LIE republican will lie about everything all of the time.

Next thing Santos will say “I was just stretching the truth.” To me, that’s taking a lie and stretching it so thin, that it appears to be the truth.

He is up for Wire Fraud, using the media to lie to collect money, just like his mentor Trump.

We’ve always had some politicians that lie about what they plan to do in office. But, Trump and Santos have taken it to an all new level: lying about who they are, too.
