    Good morning™, everyone!

First time we’ve seen Sandy in a long time! In fact, has he ever appeared in Dick Tracy?

Diet Smith is supposed to help with Annie somehow? I think that’s what Warbucks is saying. In any case, I have a feeling that the document(s) that the old man found in his garage will figure into this upcoming Annie story somehow.

“Growing up” in comic strips is very relative. Annie would be a greatgrandmother and a centenarian in real life.

Good morning™, re debuted debutantes !

Let’s face it; when Annie grows older she will be a darling of high social standing. P. 2 Daddy is looking more like his usual self.

I think Neil is on to something. It could be that Warbucks feels that as she reaches adulthood, Annie deserves to know about her biological parents, & maybe the old man in the garage is tied into that. The question is where Diet Smith fits in.

You’d think with all his money Diet could afford to wear a jacket that doesn’t look like a tent!

Warbucks wants to use the time drone to travel backwards through the time-space continueum, so he can steel healthy hair follicles from his younger self, to return them to the present, where Diet Smith can surgically implant them into his scalp, preventing his hair loss, for all time!!! What a sinister, nefarious and cutthroat character!!! He not just the hair loss criminal president, but he’s also a client!!!

    “She’s growing up.”

Is she? She looks like she’s getting younger. So do Sandy and Warbucks, for that matter.

What does “Daddy” Warbucks need help with Annie? It’s not like Diet can provide a female role model for Annie. Which is about the only thing she doesn’t have.

I don’t know if this Annie business will intersect with the Art Dekko plot but Gould and Collins often had a couple of storylines going at the same time and it worked well.

Okay, here’s a wild thought: What if Mike Curtis has decided to age Honeymoon a bit more? That would mean that for Annie to continue to sporadically appear, she would need to age accordingly, to remain as Honey’s peer.

Probably not, though. Over the years, Mike has aged (or de-aged, in the case of Joe Tracy) everyone to the point where he wants them and has then frozen their ages.

An aging Annie would definitely be looking into a new wardrobe and hairstyle. Something Blaze-like might work.

1-DADDY: I see now why you wanted us to stand here – TO SHOW THAT YOU CAST A BIGGER SHADOW!

2-DOIT: Ya got me. But don’t you ever forget that I’ll forever be a bigger presence in Tracyville than you’ll ever be!

DADDY: And you should remember that while you’re wasting time buying ever bigger suits, washing your hair and getting haircuts, I’ll be spending my time figuring out ways to be the true Big Man in this town!

3-DOIT: Yeah but you gotta go to school functions for that kid – Frannie is it – and watch her and her dog show you the latest trick that dumb mutt failed to learn. CHECK AND MATE!

DADDY: Uh… I have a solution for that. Maybe a convent? Or maybe I can get her married off and she’ll be her husband’s problem?

DOIT: Well, one – she’s Jewish so that lets out the convent and two – THIS AIN’T KENTUCKY! OH, and three – Jerry Lee Lewis IS DEAD ANYWAY!

    Arf!

(Could have left that, as my shortest Comment ever. But, no, I’ll go on.)

It appears that Daddy is signaling the re-appearance of Annie here in Tracy. What he is asking for from Diet may be as simple as that Diet look after Annie and provide her with room and board here in Tracyville while he’s off Taking Care of Business. The “she’s growing up” line may be more an aside than a key element in whatever is forthcoming, although it may be that “Garage Man” is bumbling about in search of papers that somehow relate to Annie (not necessarily revealing her birth-parents)….
