On the past two days, I have mentioned Saint David’s Day and Saint Chad’s Day which are the first two days of March. Today is Saint Winnaloe’s Day. He was another Celtic saint like Saint David. There is a rhyme about his day which mentions the two previous days:-
“First Saint David, then Saint Chad,
Then Winnaloe as though he was mad."
This means that the fierce winds associated with March usually start on Saint Winnaloe’s Day.
My dog was being a bit off her usual routine walk this morning due to multiple garbage trucks going double our low speed limits in here, and so when we got home with no results I aimed for our backyard. Yep, the ground is no longer frozen. We are going to get up to 10" of snow today, so we might get a re-freeze.

Muddy and wet. Sounds like March, but I did see some daffodil buds the other day.

Not a problem we ever have to worry about around here. We’ll take all the rain we can get.
