That’s the congressional view of most problems. 50 years on and still pertinent.

Nowadays this would likely be the International Space Station. Wanna see it? It can be WAY bright (almost up to the level of Venus, and brighter than Jupiter). Check out the Heavens Above Website.

This reminds of viewing the International Space Station (ISS) orbiting over my location several times in the past. It is pretty cool and there’s no mistaking it for a high flying aircraft because it’s so much brighter. You can too by registering at: https://spotthestation.nasa.gov/ . Also, I would recommend you download the SkyView app on your cell phone. It will show where the ISS is in relation to your position.

1965 historical……SNAP-10A. A nuclear powered satellite launched as part of SNAPSHOT satellite spy program. Indefinite powering of spy satellites using nuclear power. It was also the first use of an Ion thruster generator to propel space craft. It all failed after 43 days causing the reactor to shut down. It’s still up there not due to come down for 4000 years. However evidence in 1979 indicated it is significantly damaged by some kind of collision and deteriorating its orbit. It is also super radioactive as it is a Cesium reactor.
