I was going to start up my own Cozy company and put them out of business, but I never realized how complicated it was. The engineering and tech support costs would put me out of business
Finally Brutus gets to do the eye roll! But better bite your tongue, my friend – he’s infallible because he’s the boss, he’s not the boss because he’s infallible!
While its source technically does, he’s right that it is a waste of paper. Chalk up one for the boss today. However, it would definitely save time for Brutus to do it that way and Brutus’s time is more expensive than paper, l would hope, ergo, saving the boss money. Brutus wins again…..
I have to side with the boss on this one. Brutus is being terribly wasteful. It’d be easier to just got through all the documents and hand correct each page in question. Whereas I have land that has been cut for pulp for paper and benefitted from the income the cut provided, I also recognize the value of the tree stand as a carbon sink.
Brutus wanted a clean good looking report. The old one is probably coffee stained, crumbled from handling, out of order, thumb spit from paging to find the error. So good on you Brutus, a clean report will impress all who read it including the chief…
veebs is right, paper doesn’t grow on trees. we don’t pick our copy paper off tree branches; we get it from the home center or a big box retailer…
but, seriously, the missus and i are constantly amazed by folks’ comments when we distribute our veggies. many people apparently believe that carrots and onions and potatoes and such are grown in the supermarket’s warehouse…

That’s true, because those documents were printed on recycled paper.

A good amount of it comes from a Boise Cascade paper mill.

technically true
you can’t pluck ripe paper from the branches like a plum, but… yeah
if you wanna say paper does grow on trees, then by extension , so does money – EXCEPT that money is actually cloth – so it grows in cotton fields

And if you don’t agree with me I’ll pound you into a pulp.

That’s why it’s a good idea to start a new page with each new section in the document.

The paper is nothing, its the expense of the ink…

your right, they come from the factory that chops them down to be paper. :D

Brutus actually knows that paper comes from trees but doesn’t grow on them? At least paper is recyclable.

Ummm – yes, it does.

Some copers/printers are so arcane and complicated to operate it might be the only way our hero knows how to get the documents printed…

The boss is always right – even when he’s wrong.

but why reprint the ENTIRE document instead of just the amended page?
rhpii almost 2 years ago
If you would stop pointing out my errors, I will quit reprinting the changes.

Yes it does, but excess paper can, and is, recycled
cuzinron47 almost 2 years ago
Why print it at all, just send it as an e-mail attachment to whoever needs it.
Ahuehuete almost 2 years ago
They still print stuff? Aren’t quotes , contracts and purchase orders all all done electronically now?
Of course, in that case the boss would accuse Brutus of wasting CPU cycles, storage or electricity.
Boss: You’re wasting pixels with that large font, Thornapple! Pixels don’t grow on trees!

My father taught Finance. He told me that only government can take perfectly good paper and make it worthless by printing on it.

Sounds more like something Brutus would say.
Although, technically, he’s right. Money doesn’t grow on trees, it’s the tree itself…
