I get those even though I don’t have an Amazon account.

Privileges on Amazon? Yes, if you pay every year.

I got an email from Amazon this week warning of scams like this. I haven’t gotten any. I used to get a lot for PayPal but I closed my account and they stopped.

Always read the senders email address. If it was really Amazon it would say Amazon. Not www. Fhgrsnvyi.com or some suxh.

If I answer a phone call and it sounds like a scam I ask, “How’s the weather in Kolkata?” They usually hang up at that pount.

Don’t you just love it when you get an email that says your package is out for delivery and you haven’t ordered anything?

Do not click on a text or email link. Go to the official website and contact customer support from there.

Who cares if the Amazon is compromised. Fine by me, I wouldn’t swim in it anyways. Too many flesh eating piranhas in it already. Best to keep out.

There’s a lot of phishing going on using your texts and emails. I seem to have won so many prizes I may never have to order anything again. And it will only cost me everything I have.

Love the last panel. Years ago when Facebook was just starting out I created an account. One day the IT director where I worked came to me and said I should check my account because it was sending out a lot of weird crap. I immediately tried to cancel my account but Facebook wouldn’t let me so I created a new 30 character password that not even I could remember and vowed to never join a social media website again. To this day I’ve kept to that.

Hurray! Brutus gets in the last word and with a zinger!

I get several of those texts a month and immediately delete them, I’ve also gotten a few emails purporting to be from Amazon about the same thing, but the email header shows it originates from overseas. I never follow the links but go straight to my Amazon account to investigate. They’re all scams and hoaxes.

You’d better listen to Brutus this time, Gladys! For once, he’s right! Not that long ago, I fell for one of those phony emails and almost got completely wiped out! They’re super slick and they target and ruin so many unsuspecting people, especially older folks!

I woke up to a text this morning saying that my Netflix account could soon be suspended until I can update my billing info and avoid service disruption. It’s painful to see people falling for this blatant attempt to steal their information

As Brutus makes clear, sometimes it’s better not to be trusting. There are a lot of really nasty people out there who will drain all you have if you give them the ammunition. All they have is your email address. Give them nothing, don’t open the emails, and block them if you can. If you aren’t sure the email is legitimate, go online and contact the company directly through their website or call them on the phone. Delete, block is my routine. No legitimate company will ask for any passwords or personal information online.

Got one of those texts just this morning about my NETFLIX account. (I don’t have a NETFLIX account by the way!) Thanks for the reminder to be suspicious about unsolicited texts and phone calls Mr. Sansom. Ohh yeah… And Good one Thorny!

Don’t pay the bill and she really won’t be able to order. However, as nice and as simple as it may sound, it leads to a bad credit report which can cause even more harm…..

If in doubt, go to the official site, log on and look for messages. If no messages, you are fine.

I love when I get texts telling me they are going to lock or whatever what account for places I don’t have accounts for. :D

Sorry Brutus, but we Amazonians are hard core, and no one is going to come between us and our Prime membership. Amazon owns us, and we don’t care. :-)

If you get a message like that (text or email) and have a question about its legitimacy, just visit the website of the entity in question separately (don’t click the link in the text or email). If there is a real problem with your account, there will be a notice about it.
