What a nightmare Jay.

My boss once assigned me three tasks. I asked him which was the top priority. He said all three. What a jerk.

When everything is top priority, nothing is.

What a waste of good pies!!

It would be amusing if one of the urgent activities was to draw a pie chart

Is this rush a bigger rush that the rush I’m working on right now that supplanted an earlier rush?

…And the next day, he went into work, pie-eyed…

If everything is a priority, nothing is.

If you want to interpret it, this dream has some pretty good secondary meanings. Luckily Jay is now happily in a relationship.

As I used to tell my boss, if everything is high priority then nothing is high priority

No matter how much you do, you never do enough. What you don´t do is always more important than what you do.

Rita has a great throwing motion with a nice follow-through. Especially in a skirt and heels. I’m impressed.

She hasn’t hit him in the face yet. It says a lot about her management skills.

Looks too much like my job.

About the year this originally ran, I had a boss who’s every email subject line ended with a red exclamation point. At least we had talked her down from all caps, and a red exclamation point. Now, about that pie…

Interesting how the “Do First” pie contents spread so much they made Jay’s hair purple.

I notice that the “Urgent” pie is on track to hit Jay square in the face!

While studying Shakespeare, we were told the interesting fact that almost all English words that originally mean "instantly, eventually come to me “in a while”. For instance, “Presently” used to mean “right now”.

I don’t even want to know what he may have said to deserve that…

In “The Innocents Abroad”, Mark Twain’s book about his travels on what was essentially the worlds first “cruise ship”, he is approached by an earnest young man who announces he has begun a journal of the trip. Twain responds that a completed journal is a wonderful thing. Of course, by the third day, the young man is reduced to recording latitude and longtitude. By the end of the week, the journal is never mentioned again.
