So, there’s not only ONE big cheese in Switzerland?…BTW: I can write more than 300 words per minute – not that anyone including me or my doctor can read that stuff than…but I guess the last one was a letter to my beloved, saying: "Oh, my…deer, electrified fence or not, visit me in Germany! I once read that the Swiss populace didn’t like for their president to rise too high above them. He was required to live in a modest apartment, pay his maid’s salary himself, and even ride to work on the streetcar.

Perhaps Castano could come on the comments section and explain the mystery of “eight” people drawn in the Swiss entry and give all these fevered brows some peace?
I kind of inherited my mother’s shorthand textbook after cleaning out their home; I don’t see how anybody could memorize all of that, but I guess if the Chinese/Japanese can do it with their language… Not sure what to do with it – maybe a used bookstore would want it?
I took Gregg shorthand my senior year in HS. I got a certificate saying that I had a speed of 200 wpm. That particular speed test was easy, as it was a fairly short sentence, so although I couldn’t necessarily read my shorthand, I remembered what the sentence was.
Regarding the Swiss leadership, this quote from Wikipedi seems to explain who the eighth person is. As is noted, this “president” does not have any actual power; just the seven council members share power.
The President of the Swiss Confederation chairs the council, but exercises no particular authority;
I’m amazed at the deer avoiding an area into the next generation. We had a dog who kept climbing over the fence, so we had to put up an electric wire to keep him in. He only encountered it once, and never tried to climb the fence again, even when the power was off. He was unharmed, just made uncofmortable, but we had to do something to keep him in, because additional fence height was not allowed by the HOA, and we wanted to keep him safe.

My father taught Gregg shorthand for over 30 years in high school. I can’t read it all, but the middle stroke that looks like a u reads “of the”.
