When people live together for many decades I guess they seem to resemble each other. Experience taught me this with my parents.

LOL, that is hilarious.

In my youth (a long, long time ago), I tried to grow a mustache a couple of times. It never went well. Half grew out in my normal hair color, but the other half grew out about two shades lighter (and no, I don’t know how or why that happened). In any event, from a distance of a yard or more, it looked like I had half a mustache. And it itched, so I shaved it off. In protest, my normal hair started to thin, and now – well, let’s just say my biggest hair-care expense is the occasional can of Turtle Wax.

It’s not that much of an insult. Earl and Opal have been married long enough. They say that you start to look alike after some time, also, people are unconsciously attracted to like partners- people with similar appearances.
