Chocolate milk wasn’t offered at breakfast at the grade school where I taught, so the kids would get Cocoa Puffs and use them to turn their white milk into chocolate milk.
It takes me several moves to get a bowl and spoon to the table, fill the bowl with cereal, and then add milk and return the milk to the refrigerator. I have to cover the bowl so that Nigel doesn’t help himself before I’ve had my turn.
My Trouble & Mischief completely concur with Tabitha’s assertion that cereal milk is indeed the “best milk in the world”! ♡〜٩( ╹▿╹ )۶〜♡ They love “Froot Loop” milk the bestest!
For the lazy, or impatient among us……. they now make cereal flavored milk. Many of the top, sugary cereals have their own flavored milk now. To that I add, with yesterday in mind, HUZZAH!
Our first cat, Carmella, would hook her claw over the rim of the cereal bowl and try and pull it out of my hand to get at the cereal milk. If we put milk in a saucer for her, she didn’t want it.
I can’t drink milk anymore and Loaner Cat isn’t interested in my OatMilk. Nine month old granddaughter however loves the OatMilk from my Tony Tigers though! I can do cooked/baked milk products but not “raw/uncooked” which even my GI doc finds very odd but interesting. I can eat some cheeses raw, but that’s about it. The joys of growing old…
Off Topic: I finished part 3 of my breaking cat news retrospective! Link here! I cover the beatrix and wicket arcs and say good bye to the original web runhttps://www.tumblr.com/popculturebuffet/715566294727000064
Every morning if I have cereal, Jasmine will come over and stare at me while I eat expecting her morning licks of the left-over cereal milk. She’s totally in agreement with Tabitha.
Jinx, my childhood black cat, used to sit on the kitchen table staring at my cereal bowl until I was finished and it was his turn. We called it “vulturing”. It’s been almost 40 years but I miss that darn cat and his antics.
Well, obviously, cereal milk has picked up added flavor from whatever cereal it has been poured into, so of course its going to taste better than normal milk straight from the source.
Ladybug Day 6: She is continuing to improve with better mobility in her hind legs. She’s also apparently regained control of her bladder, to some extent, in that she is no longer dribbling much and manages to use the box, even if only for small ‘deposits’. Still no use of or feeling in her tail.
One really cool thing is when I went to my PT appointment yesterday, a specialist in musculo-skeletal massage, I jokingly asked if he could help an animal with a herniated disc and partial paralysis. To my surprise he said, ‘yes, but not officially’. So I took her to see him (“Oh no, not more car rides!!!”) and he has able to show me a simple, safe stretch I could do for her to help relieve stress on the disc. She seemed to like the stretch and appears to have improved after just a few minutes.
Here’s how to eat cereal. Fill mug with cereal. Fill with milk. Eat cereal, oops, leftover milk, add cereal. Oops, dry cereal, add milk. Repeat till box of cereal is gone. Drink the cereal milk.
And, of course, everyone here knows that adult cats are lactose intolerant and really should not be drinking milk, right? It’s okay for kittens, but once they’ve been weaned, they can no longer process it because of a lack of lactase.
In South Korea, you could buy a box of Chex cereal flavored with green onions! That is one bowl of cereal milk not fit for drinking, but as a soup base!

Some cats sip tea
Some cats, coffee
She thinks that’s ok
If she can’t get her story edits
She’ll just walk away
She can brag ’cause they can see
She caught the red dot light (that’s right)
And she knows the bowl with the cold fresh milk
Always taste just right
’Cause we are living in a milk cereal world
And she’s a milk cereal girl
You know that we are living in a milk cereal world
And she’s a milk cereal girl

Meanwhile, Back on the Nile
The story of Ms Mu-fet
Little Ms Mu-Fet
Sat on a tuffet.
Mu-Fet: That’s a low seat, like an ottoman for those of you wondering. Or it may be a grassy knoll.
Narrator: Now to continue:
Eating her curds and whey
Along came a spider
And sat down beside her
Mu-Fet: Arachna! Long time no see!
Ari: Good to see you, too! What’s that you’re eating?
Mu-Fet: Oh, I’m trying a batch of yogurt. I’m trying to determine the best milk for making cheese and other dairy.
Ari: That’s right! You got a research position at Punn State.
Mu-Fet: And Violet-Ifa and the ladies helped me obtain different types of milk.
Ari: What are you going with all your dairy products?
Mu-Met: Oh I think the Procurers will know what to do.
