Peanut angels?

OT: Class in session.

Puck makes them sound like Tribbles.Lupin with the snowangels in the packing tribbles.

I just love the look of pure joy on Lupin’s face in the last panel (and his loosened tie). I hope we can all find something that will give us that look today.

Consider the mathematics of the infinite multiplying. Does it become greater than infinite, or are there more infinites? Over to you, Gent.

Toebeans! And really, Lupin. Deserting your post as anchorcat just to make packing peanut angels? You go, boy!

OT-Sheila and Salem update

I see the peanuts have mysteriously transferred from yesterday’s green carpet to the kitchen floor.

A peanut devil!

I use them everyday. And so far nothing arrived broken, so there’s that.

They multiply when you look at them? Don’t tribbles do that, too?

Packing Peanuts. Them snoopy little things.

Cats eat these, so I quickly bag these up whenever I get them.

Lupin is vibrating in that first panel while holding himself back, trying to deliver the news, but you can see the almost trance like look on his face because the pull of the peanuts is just too strong!

Packing peanuts are sort of like zucchini and cucumbers from a summer garden only you can’t eat packing peanuts. You get a box shipped to you with packing peanuts in it. Soon they’ve multiplied and you’re left with no choice but to sneak over to your neighbors’ houses to try and leave them on the front porch.

Packing peanuts are the embryo form of tribbles.

Puck: Great news, everyone! The good ship Red Planet Spider will be docking shortly!

Iggy: Just in time for Ziggy’s present!

Bea: If you don’t mind my asking, what is your story with the ship?

Iggy: I come from a long line of shipwrights. I had just recovered from my accident (another story for another time) when we began work on a new ship. Everything went well, and it was time for the spiders to weave the rigging. High in the sky you could the planet Horus the Red, or what the Greeks call Mars. We decided it was a sign and named the ship after the planet and our spider friends.

Ora Z: And then did you have a food fight?

Iggy: No, just a celebratory banquet. The chef was originally one of Floofnet’s apprentices. The spiders had a rock band that performed for us, and Arachna was one of the performers.

Ora Z: And did they have fireworks?

Iggy: Yes, they did. But nothing burned down. It was just a lovely time.

Iron Glove: What about your cousin?

Iggy: Ziggy Starcross’ branch of the family are all famous navigators. He and I joined the Red Planet Spider’s crew on its maiden voyage. All went well until the storm when I was washed overboard. I made to here, and the rest is history.

Bea: And Ziggy is a musician as well?

Iggy: Yes. It was his dream to play guitar, but they hadn’t been invented yet.

Lynn: Well, now his dream will come true!

D = log N/log S. This is the formula to use for computing the fractal dimension of any strictly self-similar fractals, i.e., packing peanuts. The dimension is a measure of how completely these fractals (peanuts) embed themselves into normal Euclidean space (the kitchen).

The final exam will be open book.

That is pure joy on Lupin there! Whenever there’s a box, it’s likely the anchor desk will go unoccupied.

It could be open library and I still wouldn’t get it!

I have t seen any in years. Im guessing they are banned here along with the other forms of styrofoam.

Puck is, as always, not wrong. If someone mailed me a box full of packing peanuts, I too would feel compelled to send the darn things back.

In fact, a publisher I sometimes buy from (they have exclusive stuff from all my favorite authors, but they’re so expensive…) does send books in boxes full of packing peanuts, and it does not improve my liking of them.

Lupin is making Packing Peanut Angels!!

There is a factory here that uses styrofoam and recycles it into their products.

I love Lupin’s loosened tie while he’s making a packing-peanut angel!

An important part of the lifecycle of the common packing peanut is the housecat, which will instinctively attempt to spread packing peanuts to every corner of its domain.

I put packing peanuts in delicates laundry bags, and use them on the bottoms of my tomato plant pots for drainage. They work well! They drain well, and the bags allow me to reuse them. (The first year, I didn’t put them in bags – so I had to pick them out of the old soil. Ick.)

Amazon doesn’t use packing peanuts. Just those puffy air-filled plastic pouches, or crumpled-up wrapping paper. Works for me, though…

I used that second panel (with Georgia’s permission) in an unboxing video where the item in question had been cushioned with what turned out to be three large trash bags full of packing peanuts.

I love how Lupin has loosened his tie and unbuttoned his collar in the last panel.

Packing peanuts! The only thing worse was the fad for putting a thousand little sparkly glitter bits in birthday cards.

My brudders and I send the same boxes and packing materials back and forth to each other. We learned that from my mom and her sister. They found the perfect Birthday card one year and it went among my mom, aunt father and uncle for years. It finally disintegrated after 10 years of regular use. Didn’t understand it then, but I think it is a great idea!

Better to mail boxfuls of bubble wrap.

Takeaways and packing peanuts, now that sounds and looks familiar.Is our clever Georgia reworking some of her old stuff to give the hand some rest, no complaints here? By the way, heartfelt commiserations from recovering paw to recovering paw.

Does anyone of you remember when we first came across the peanuts and the takaway stories? I am not a regular member of the commentariat but never missed a comic ever since Elvis first took microphone in paw and announced “Breaking cat news”, yeah the wonderful twice weekly watercolours,

Georgia I wish you a speedy and full recovery and thanks for the brilliant minutes of the station meeting as an alternative to drawings, I admire your creativity and resilience. Like “The Woman” in the comic never cowered by adversity.

A cousin just got a new kitten, named her peanut.

Of course they love the packing peanuts. They also love the chaos they help create.

Mailing each other boxfuls is the only way to get rid of them.
