I already commented on this past week’s story the first time it ran, so I have nothing new to say and I’ve virtually taken a week off from commenting, but I’m looking forward to Monday’s non-rerun story, whatever it may be.

Well, I didn’t find any sources for Moxie syrup for ice cream. There are some recipes for making it, and presumably there are some concentrates for soda dispensers.

I could swear that syrup was spiked with an illicit something. Tracy looks the worse for wear.

So Fleegle is defeated by the shapes of Fosdick and Tracy’s chinny chin chin. Oh, for crying aloud. If this dream had been a movie, I would demand my money back. Yo Mike, no more reruns. Yo Mike, going forward you owe the readers stories which have plots which makes this strip worth reading.

I don’t know what moxie syrup is. Tracy, how about just eating your ice cream plain. No more wacky dreams as a trade-off.

Tess, come and pour the ice cream on Tracy, that will bring him back to reality.

Remember my comment about the chins last week? Looks like the chins were a win,win,win!

I just looked up Moxie. It’s a soft drink that’s only available in New England, and is now a Coca-Cola product.

What the heck is Moxie Syrup???

Moxie was a sweet “root” type soda popular in the 30s. It was popular in New England, and was said to be the favorite soda of President Calvin Coolidge (from Vermont and later, Massachusetts if you care). There are vintage ads with Ted Williams hawking the soda. I would imagine the syrup is used to make the soda.

Moxie syrup? I’ve heard of Moxie soda and I drink it. Best called a super cola and is an acquired taste.

Fuddonna wears the baubles that Fleegle holds so dear.

He marches in so boldly, threatens Whammy of Destruction

Chins thrust out make Fleegle shout, “Tis jawbones of obstruction!”

He casts the Whammy to destroy, aims brashly at detectives

Who remain just as they were, the Whammy made defective.

‘Tis the hoosegow now for Fleegle, held fast by lock and key

Tracy awakes, ice cream forsakes, nocturnal visions flee.

Hmmmmm, finally their razor sharp chins get their just desserts!

Very true Tracy, never eat that again!

It was great to see Fearless again.

That was a fun read. It was nice to see a Li’l Abner character guest star after so many years!

Trivia question: What are two comic strip bad guys that wear Zoot Suites?

Batman’s “The Joker” and Little Abner’s “Evil-eye Fleagle”.

I have to note that the colorist for this past week actually followed Team Tracy’s more muted color scheme, and Fleegle’s corpse-green skin.

This was without a doubt the worst comic I’ve ever seen of Dick Tracy. This stank so much I have to stop following this sewer that the writers call a comic strip. This was beyond bad. It was f&^king terrible. Yes, ban me now for using dirty words. This comic strip should be banned for such an atrocious storyline.

But the mighty Chin Deflectors of our Patriot-heroes shoot it out of the heavens! What advanced technology—or fore-thrust razor-sharp chins—can do! Tracy and Fosdick (Li’l Abner’s Ideal) are an ideal pairing of parodied and parody.

But heed this warning: no Moxie Syrup on your bedtime snacking ice cream!

Now, what happens tomorrow without the Sunday advance introduction?

Well,Tracy thought Moxie Syrup would be better than Gravel Gertie’s “Turnip Surprise”.

Try to imagine the nightmares THAT would give you.

Think that I may prefer maple syrup, myself, Did spend my toddler time in New England. Used to read Fearless Fosdick ads for Wildroot Cream-Oil in Popular Mechanics mag’s. back in the mid-50s, and later in (?)Reader’s Digest, I think. Fosdick was Li’l Abner’s ‘Ideel.’
