The colorist goofed again! In the first panel Liz seems to be eating a white apple. (Perhaps mom peeled the apple for her.) But then the apple gets its peel back, but which usually are red or green, has turned the same brown color as the potato.

Future stripper?

These people are so real life. Old fashioned comics meant to lighten our moods. Love it.

My daughter did just that, years ago. It is a very fond memory!

Too funny with Aypo I can’t stop laughing and this is the pick me upper (snapping me out of my mood swing). On the other hand, Liz is good daughter comforting her mom’s layoff.

My youngest daughter did that same thing about the same age.

My child was like that. I finally just let her run around outside in the summers without her clothes when she wanted to until she was maybe 3. Our backyard was pretty private. She grew out of that stage anyway.

We are in the “Aypo likes running around nude” period. Lynn Johnston had a stretch there when we saw a lot of naked April. I imagine her editor was having a fit, because this would definitely limit what countries where you could use this comic strip.

On the other side of their street was a lovely puppy she wanted to see

Little April was the girls name, such a funny sight to see

Her mother shrieked with horror as April pattered naked toward the street

She couldn’t cross the street ’cause she knew she wasn’t allowed

She couldn’t reach the little puppy waiting on the other side

In the sunshine she was throwing kisses to the puppy she had spied

Her mother chasing a little faster, after her streaking girl

Little April ran down the sidewalk, much to her mothers chagrin

Then she darted to the sidewalk, right in front of the mail man

As he spied her, he started laughing as his daughter had done the same

Now the memory of the incident make him laugh out loud again.

I just love the expressions Lynn Johnson gives April. You can just feel her exuberance, her liberation!

In my family, my brother did the same thing in Kansas going down to the basement where my mom had a group meeting with other ladies. We have a picture of him on the stairs holding a napkin on where you’d think it would be.

I’d go with swan dive, but there isn’t a pool

Sheesh! At least Lizzie wore her red boots and carried an umbrella when she did that!

Make money this way; by having a dog bite at April from the behind, pulling down her bathing suit in front of everyone. She could be a spokeschild.

My brother once did this! He was a little Houdini, and very very fast. I was pretty young too, but I still distinctly remember my mom chasing him down the street. :-D

geez … when will April learn??? At least wear something on your feet when going outside. You never know what you will step on.
