Veeblefester once again does his best to spoil our hero’s day and golf game by being irascible and taciturn.

I don’t ride but my playing partners do. If they don’t want to talk, that is OK, I talk for all of us. Stories, jokes, recollections, course comments, etc.

Brutus Thornapple . Always the better man .

Brutus, talk about money. He’ll loosen up then.

“Well, OK, water under the bridge, can’t squeeze blood out of a turnip, can’t lead a…”

Always the charmer. Boss doesn’t want to admit he’s incapable of small talk that doesn’t involve tea cozies. Even the PGA pros chitchat during their tournament rounds.

I find it interesting that Bossman has noone else to play golf with. ‘Are there no other men of industry that’ll hit the links with him? Or, does his arrogance run them all away? Or, more to the point, is playing with Brutus the only way he can be assured of a win?

Just don’t speak Brutus. No great shot chief. No good one chief. No rotten luck chief. Just let the bugger stew in his own tiny wittle glass world.

A sudden left turn might solve Brutus’ problem.

Met’s are a big disappointment Thornapple. The Guards are only 2 games out with a respectable 500 record. Get your teams straight!

Never argue with or be rude to the driver. They can get even.

His boss complains about Brutus a lot, yet he goes out of his way to do stuff with him. I guess his status won’t let him admit he likes Brutus verbally?

Veeblefester must insist on always having a chauffer because I can’t think of any other reason for Brutus to be along on this golf outing.

Got to concentrate only on golf and those money bags beside my desk at work.

Sad that the boss doesn’t want to talk. That’s half the fun usually the better half especially if there’s a 19th hole. Going to be a long game, that’s for sure…..
