I’m sure there’s an appropriate horror movie score playing right about now. If those moles replace their hats with shark fins, I might advocate living on the roof for a while.
Real life Sophie news (t’s not good.) For those who missed it, I posted this on Fri night. This is from Sophie’s Woman who posted it Friday afternoon on FB. https://www.facebook.com/TommyWhiskerstache?cft0=AZVVjxJqvvM2EOY0sRZ2pFpN8TvGRWBg2-ST61qBajGq67fUCbpQcabohFqLpBqKKnFG594IAzD9qUXMAQk5JtjgMQL6va67SO4QKsqR3aWuAleJt4ZGsd5OZyt0D0u56C5uHy6Qa6SaRab8-70DWjUElOIZ5to-vzG347UOBExzL3cQmgV7KSwTf4R0eOLwjAI&tn=-UC%2CP-R
“So yesterday was the anniversary of Tommy’s passing, this is especially hard because now our beloved Miss Sophie Ann is finally starting to feel her age. We just found out yesterday that she has terrible kidney disease which has progressed quickly, she had a thorough work up at last year’s annual exam. I had made myself sick last year that maybe there was something I had missed about Thomas and maybe didn’t notice he was sick, but after talking to the ER vet and our own veterinarian who had seen Tommy many times, it seems that this is not uncommon and our vet was kind enough to review his whole record and said nobody could have known and that he’s seen this happen before. Just in case I asked them to run the full gamut on Sophie Ann. It alleviated my guilt as an experienced professional in the field but I still felt awful, obviously, and just missed him terribly. Now knowing the inevitability of Sophie just kind of breaks my heart all over again. We lost Tommy’s pit bull BFF and perpetual sloppy kissy “helpful” personal groomer, Leia, in lockdown of 2020. We lost Tommy unexpectedly in 2022. And now Sophie is falling apart in 2023. Miss Sophie is comfortable and was only slightly uncooperative for the nice techs, I let them know that they got off lightly today She is completely blind now so we have her in our bedroom suite so she can’t accidentally walk off the stairs or something since it’s not one we can put up a barrier on, also she was jumping on the dining room table somehow but unable to get down.
OT " Gloria just made me think of posting something; it could be nothing according to our vet but my wife thinks something is amiss with our Ms Pickles, aged 12.
The mole in the back looks trepedatious. Every one of these groups seem to have a soft boy or girl whose entirley sweet. Or two in the cats case. Unfortuatnely two of them are now about to be attacked by moles.
The moles may find a hiccup in their plans. They disrespected Chitter and Chatter. Disrespect towards her minions is disrespect towards old Mags. And people like her do not take kindly to disrespect.
I wonder what Tillie thinks of all this! If help is being summoned the BCN reporters certainly could bring together a devastating coalition of predators. Which is often necessary to defeat Napolean types. Then there was a certain ghost army in “The Return of the King.”……
Just a bit more about Eisenhower and Montgomery. Eisenhower was a political general, and he was a good one. He had to manage a bunch of touchy egos (Churchill, de Gaulle, and Montgomery among others) and he succeeded. But he wasn’t very good as a battlefield general. Montgomery could never have done Eisenhower’s job. He was regarded as a pain in the neck by the other high commanders. But he could win battles. He had a far better understanding of the fighting side of the business than Eisenhower. (Or than most of the other available generals.) He was very popular with the troops, as well. And he had a very high opinion of himself.Patton was a lower ranking commander.
Tommy, Agnes, RUN! I don’t like the way the moles are circling around you. And, whatever happens, don’t give access to explosives or matches to Lupin and Ora Zella!
Of course I don’t want anything bad to happen to Agnes and Tommy, but if they fall through, we could see Mole Town. Then, either a daring rescue or T and A could charm the moles into a change of leadership! As Jacob pointed out, the mole in the back may be the key!
Don’t feel guilty. Cats and dogs, but especially cats, are very good at hiding their symptoms. They are prey animals in the wild and they cannot allow themselves to be vulnerable. I, too, lost a few kitties to kidney disease and it’s so hard. I have had my heart broken to bits 8 times so far. I hope to see them all (and my childhood dog) over the Rainbow Bridge. We will meet up with them one day and we’ll all be together for eternity- no pain, no illness, just love.
I have noticed that Decibel, the dilute grey tabby feral that we feed on the front porch, is getting rather round. She’s about half the size of Update and we think maybe a year younger. I’ve gotten within three feet of her, but she hasn’t let me touch her yet. She will use the cat house on the porch that has my skirt in it to get her used to my scent. And why the name Decibel? She’s even louder than Update. Eventually we’ll catch her and then off to the vet for the upgrade to Female 2.0.
All quiet on the Western front with the Lawn Potatoes here. Snakes however, are being told to stop spreading themselves over the garden walkway. It startles me and I hate being startled. LOL.

At the Artisans’ Studio
Maat-Tilda: With all this space-time fabric from Ora Z’s anemone escapade, we should create an extra special project.
Sophititi: We could create a beautiful tapestry with some of the jewels Fe-Anaro gifted us.
Adobe Style: And maybe add some found objects. Soph, you’re always good at finding them.
Soph: Alright. Let’s make it beautiful but chaotic, just like the small kitty who gave us this fabric in the first place.
Tillie: Where is the little chaotic kitty?
Enter Small Tornado
Ora Z: It’s the Little O, you know!
Soph: Ora Z, would you mind getting some of Fe-Anaro’s jewels for us from the Gold and Jewels room?
Ora Z: No problem! I was going to join Beatrixia at the library! I can burn two fire crackers with one match!
Adobe Style: That’s one way of looking at it..
