Can you just see it all now? A foot long hotdog shrinking in its bun! Sacrilege, I tell you sacrilege….

Good things come in small packages. As long as they come, it’s OK.

At home at least, I like to split my hotdog (the wiener) lengthwise, spread it open on the bottom side of the bun and use the trough created as the place to “apply” the ketchup. I usually put mustard on the inside surface of the top part of the bun.

I know some people think that putting ketchup on a hotdog is wrong. I disagree. It probably depends on what you grew up with. Putting chili on a hotdog (making a chili dog) is all right by me.

Hot dogs I’ve got, but I’m out of buns.

In the city where my university was located, there was a place downtown called Hot Dog Charlie’s that advertised hot dogs for only 5¢ (this was 1970, when the typical street vendor cart’s price was 25¢ to 50¢). The hot dogs they sold turned out to be the size of my little finger, with proportionally small buns. Few people went there more than once.

Is this comic in newspapers? If so, Dave, I think this is inappropriate. I would hate to have a little girl ask me to explain this!
