My church group is going on what we call a Pioneer Trek, where we wear accurate (or as accurate as we can get) period clothing and spend Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday going on a massive hike and camping trip in the hills. I wind up catching bronchitis on the trip, waking up Sunday feeling miserably sick and wind up staying home from school the following week. On Tuesday, I get a call during the day from a friend.
Me: answering groggily Hello?
Friend: Did you get eaten by a bear?
Me: …..no?
Friend: Friend #2’s bet was alien abduction.
Me: …no, just sick…
Friend: Okay, well, feel better and I’m glad you didn’t get eaten by a bear.
That 3rd frame should have a few comic-stereotypical “angels” and “devils” mixed with the comic “aliens”. They all really mean the same, of course, but that’d make it clearer which “cults” are involved.
I kinda think I can name at least one guy who has been ‘rescued from normality’ by aliens. But he’s currently occupied with some sort of trials while running for pres or king or dictator or just threatening people as he dodges paying his lawyers and other suckers. No time to procreate, thank goodness.
Ahhh. That explains scientology. Still, wouldn’t it be nice to think that God really meant for Eden to last forever, and some outside force messed it up? …well I guess the snake sort of fits there, but still…
Sorry someone beat you to it Eddie. Zecharia Sitchin was an author of a number of books proposing an explanation for human origins involving ancient astronauts. Sitchin attributed the creation of the ancient Sumerian culture to the Anunnaki, which he stated was a race of extraterrestrials from a planet beyond Neptune called Nibiru.
Seems to me there are 3 choices as to how we got here. Blind , dumb luck, more advanced aliens who planted us or an invisible father figure who did a lousy job of it and didn’t give the experiment a second thought . I’ll take either of the first two , leaning heavily on the first.
Clever, the combination of the equally Foolish Myths of Alien and Theist “Creation” created evolution of Humans.Too much evidence both are BS. THIS TIME, a couple of Thumbs Up.
Well, the Intelligent Designer definitely dropped a stitch or two. Humans are social and predatory, which is not a combination of traits that play well together. On top of which is the whole Primate cognitive plan, which is excitable, curious, and easily frustrated.
Humans are puny. Especially since we think we’re god’s gift to creation. We even supposed that we’re exclusively unique and have sole ownership of the entire universe. I’m surprised we only have one moron complaining that life is unfair because his election was stolen.

I have to say, this version makes so much more sense. Pre sapient upliftment is pretty plausible.
