    Lightning Bug or Firefly? Here in the SE, lightning bug seems to be more popular but I understand out west Firefly is more popular though no region is 100% behind either one.

    It’s not a break light. It’s more like the Bat Signal. If a receptive firefly of the same species of the opposite sex sees it, he or she will come toward the signal of the flasher … after flashing a return signal of its own.
