Bea seems a little overwhelmed. If she’s like me when I first started babysitting, she’s thinking “I am never going to let this happen to me when I get older”. Nope, nope, nope. I knew I was not mother material from babysitting my 2 young cousins who were actually pretty easy and good kids yet I still couldn’t handle the stress and burden.
Baba seems to be pondering whether the raccoons could’ve been stashing stuff in the barn without her knowledge. Hmmmm. Whatever it is, I wonder if it’ll help with the mole problem?
I love how, with a few swipes of yellow paint, Georgia has made P. Mag’s dress of magazine pages. Every once in a while, we need to just take a moment to sit back and marvel at her talent. Brava!
Hmm. Time for a treasure hunt? What might they find? Where might it have been hidden all this time? And, most importantly, What could possibly go wrong?
We’ve already seen that Spork waves like Iggy and one of the kits uses the ceiling like a floor. Wouldn’t it be fun if each of the kits were a match for one of the cats.
Elvis-Anum: I thought everyone was going on the You Call That a Pyramid exploration.
Beatrixia: There was a last-minute glitch. But we’re all ready now.
Obadiah Opossum: I can’t wait to see the oPyramid. I’ve always wanted to create a beautiful tapestry.
Sophititi: And I’d like to find some found objects for a new sculpture.
Thomios: Everyone ready? Let’s go!
At the You Call That a Pyramid
Beatrixia: You know, it’s not a bad pyramid. Just a little funny looking.
Thomios: And it has many lovely treasures hidden inside.
Adobe Style: Just goes to show you it’s what’s inside that counts.
Sometime Later
Maat-Tilda: Here’s the gold and gem room. They are quite beautiful. I wonder of they were created by our friend Fe-Anaro.
Ora Z: I think they were. I can bat and toss them without doing one bit of damage.
Bea: What do you make of the scroll room, Thomios?
Thomios: Judging from the titles, I can make wonderful things! Here’s Julia Kitten’s Mastering the Art of Gallic Cooking_, The Better Pyramid’s and Sand Dune’s Cooking, and Jamos Pepper’s Making Lots of Sauces.
Floofnet: And just look at this pantry! All sorts of honey that never goes bad, rice, pure vanilla extract, and even maple syrup.
Thomios: I heard of maple syrup, but never saw any. Wonder how it got here from the New World.
Lil’ baby Spork looks like a cute handful. I bet he can keep up with Oz.
Lil’ Baby Frodo is going to have surgery today. I suggested to our Vet that he could have the same lesion removal surgery that I have had several times. I had a number of back surgeries to alleviate back pain and remove shrapnel. This is somewhat unique for pets, but I talked to our Vet and a friend from Med school, a specialist about it. They think it could work.
Lil’ baby Frodo is a rescue, and was discarded on the 405 Freeway by a monster who put him in a shopping bag and threw him out the window onto the highway divide. He doesn’t have full rotation or movement in his forward paws due to lesions and scaring on his scapula. The hope is that he’ll be able to snag the living room curtains and climb to the top with his brothers and sister. Right now, he doesn’t climb at all, so is limited in play.
I’m glad the recent updating hooplah was resolved before I found out about it, but my GoComics has been slow and unresponsive for several days. I worry that our enormous community is swamping it.
Spork seems to be hanging from another Kit’s hands and we can’t see how the upside down kit is making that manuever! I wanted to shove the speech balloon out of the way!
Stashed junk= treasure? Raccoons do like shiny objects but prefer food related stuff. Google says that their tiny long fingered hands are sensitive so that they are able to ‘see’ with them while foraging at night

Junk and hay. Pretty much like my barn. Minus the hay.

Baba is about to let em have it. But in my mind, Princess Magazine is doing some serious JAZZ HANDS
What’s even better is the boys rampaging in the background, as we boys will do. Maybe that’s why Sisters tend to dislike Brothers at that age?

Gee, it turns out raccoon kits are as much as a handful as I suspected. I learn so much from this network.

The legend lives on from the meadow on down
Of the big barn they called Ba Ba’s place
The barn, of a measure, never gives up her treasures
When the moles of August turn grouchy
With a load of raccoon kits so many more than before
Than Ba Ba’s place was empty
That good barn and true was a bone to be chewed
When the moles of August march feistily

Panel four is great! I wonder if there will be a hidden treasure subplot with the legends of the People Barn.
