The “Just Barn Stuff!” was Beatrix’s reaction to Goldie on August 7th.

I wonder what Burt is doing with that cable. It’s quite funny that first it’s Goldie who gets told “Barn Stuff” by Beatrix, and now Burt.

Beatrixia: That was such a tragic story. It was thought the fire was started when someone forgot to extinguish a brazier during a s’more party. But we found an archive saying the fire was due to a freak lightning storm.

Bev: And I’m proud to say my ancestors in the Beaver chapter of the Ancient and Accepted Procurers’ Guild had a part in rescuing the scrolls.

Iggy: While you’re going through the scrolls, Iron Glove and Wally and I are going to look for the toolroom.

Puck: You may want to consult the hieroglyphs on the wall next to the gold room. They’re a map of the pyramid.

Two youngsters in a barn full of enticements. What could possibly go wrong?

Nothing says we’re doomed like a kitten and young raccoon using a deadly weapon meant for an adult.

I like how in the second panel Beatrix doesn’t seem so sure about the idea of Princess Magazine using the fire extinguisher to fight the moles, but by the last panel is helping her try to cover up what they are doing.

Also I wondered if Bea would mention that she had seen the fire extinguisher in the footage they had watched.

Wait, when was Jules on trial?

Child, Burt has done more “barn stuff” than you can imagine.

Parent: “Where did you go?”

Child: “out.”

Parent: “What did you do?”

Child: “Nothing.”

Parent: “Why did you go out, then?”

Child: “There’s nothing to do here.”

Parent: “So you went out to do nothing, when there’s plenty of nothing to do here. Does that make sense to you?”

Child: “Yes.”

Magazine and Bea remind me of my dad. He was born in 1921 and lived in a 5 story building in the Bronx. His first friend was the building super’s son who, unlike my dad, was black. They were 4 and nobody had taught them that they weren’t supposed to play together. It was one of several reasons that my folks supported the civil rights movement strongly.

Two YAYs: first for Bea for knowing she should try to talk Magazine out of rushing off to save the throne, and second for Burt showing up and catching the pair of them!
