Hobbes is more of the “voice of reason” kind, Calvin. Surely, you should know that?

That’s why he’s so popular with the other kids.

Certain individuals can aspire to greatness without any of those qualities… as long as they can bamboozle the people into believing that they actually possess them. Then again, a surprisingly large chunk of the people will avidly lap up style over substance.

I’m not bad, I’m just drawn that way.

Good looks and charm? They must be future traits of Calvin. He hasn’t got them now.

Calvin must think he’s in the privileged class. The rest of us can’t seem to get by with hard work and no connections. In fact, we scare the privileged class!

Is he related to the Kardashians?

Calvin’s intelligence is particularly artificial today.

Just getting by is not much to aspire to.

I wonder how much restraint it took for Hobbes not to laugh out loud at Calvin’s comments…

Umm Calvin, you have little choice about your basic looks, but the charm aspect of your personality could use a bit of work…

Honestly, there are people making millions with a whole lot less looks and charm than Calvin has, not to mention a ton less artistic talent and creativity. He’s got a chance.

You look like an old mop, and you have the charm of a porcupine quill. Better get to learning there McGee.

Hobbes knows he needs to make a quick change of subject or he’s in trouble.

Too bad his alter ego is the one with the charm and the stripey good looks. :)
