She didn’t go as a cowboy after all. Another 20 years and I would’ve LOVED that costume!

Even if he is her father, he must respect the candy that was given to his daughter, they are his!

If they were giving out peanut butter cups, my daughter would let them know that her dad loves peanut butter cups and they would give her an extra one! LOL ;-)

My dad did the same thing, haha. My mom let us trick or treat; she just wouldn’t let us keep all the candy because she said it was bad for our teeth. We could pick a few, and that was it. We never saw where the rest of it went … suspect that they ate it watching TV after we went to bed!! Haha.

Trick or treating is a lot of exercise. Some of us tucker out and some of us tucker up.

I was born just before WW2 started and we had no TorT until about 1947. All I had known was rationing and suddenly there was free candy everywhere. It was a miracle!

It does look like popcorn that he’s eating. Rather than giving in to the “don’t let the kids eat anything that isn’t wrapped” paranoia, he’s eating it to save his daughter from possible gastric distress. (??)

When we first bought our house, almost all our neighbors were around our age and all the kids were around the same age…On halloween when our close neighbors would come to the door with their kids for trick or treat, we had a small “haunted house” set up in the living room. While the kids made their way through the spooky stuff in the living room, we had hot drinks in the kitchen for the parents. My best friend took our own kids with hers so we could host the haunted house.

I think Jimmy Kimmel got his idea for the ultimate Halloween prank from this comic. He asks parents to video their kid’s reaction when they’re informed that their candy was eaten up and all gone while they slept last night. (The candy is of course safe and sound, untouched and just hidden for the joke.)

Halloween was always extra special in our home as it was my Mother’s birthday…we lived in a neighborhood with a lot of homes close together and homeowners who gave out goood treats…one year my Wife volunteered me to take my daughter…her friends … four of them… my nieces and a few of the neighborhood kids out ‘Trick or Treating’ … It was a warmer that night and the kids kept shedding their costume parts…of course i was the one who at first held…face masks…crowns…too-toos….and other miscellaneous items and. after a while, began to put them on rather than keep carrying them…i remember having on a crown, a fake nose… a cheap face mask on the back of my head…long too-too, a long pink sparkly scarf and as the kids were running up to the door of a home the homeowner asked me what i was wearing……………… ‘Left-Overs’ …i replied…

While my kids were growing up, I always enjoyed when they got Reece’s cups, one kid does not like peanut butter and the other does not like peanut butter and chocolate mixed. I got all of the Reece’s cups. mmmmmmm

my dad used to eat all my “Oh Henry” bars. I in turn ate my kids Baby Ruth, but they didn’t really want chocolate. They were more interested in the tart stuff. I wanted my Oh Henry bars. Sigh
